Courageous Supreme Court’s Abortion Ruling Makes History

I agree, it should not be used as birth control...and I seriously doubt that is a reason for the vast majority of all abortions.

But a woman who wants to end a pregnancy in her own body should have the right to do so...and to do it with the aid of a doctor.

This ruling by the conservatives of the SCOTUS has done more to harm the integrity of, and trust in, the SCOTUS than almost any other decisions in its history.

Question, if I may: I doubt you would say, "We do not need millions upon millions more cataract surgeries, appendectomies, or tonsillectomies during the next 50 years."

Why, specifically, are you saying that about "abortions?"
What do you think the reason for the vast majority are just out of curiosity... I agree that there are situations that it is necessary to terminate a pregnancy for either the health of the mother or The unborn child.. And that does need to be a decision that is made between the family and doctor... Are tonsillectomy still a thing? When we were growing up we kept ours it was pretty easy to cure an infected tonsil... Cataract surgery in appendectomies aren't exactly the same as terminating developing lives .. do you know that some abortions are because the woman finds out that the baby is Downs? https://fb.watch/dVr0_WbnWP/ obviously this is a very controversial subject but I am hoping that the Supreme Court's decision is absolutely a step in the right direction... I know that right now lots of women are taking birth control much more seriously than they were in the past... Because abortion is not a birth control option anymore...

Garland will be impeached for not enforcing the federal law that prohibits demonstrations at the homes of S.C. Justices and not prosecuting illegals (non-citizens) when they cross the border illegally or enforcing the “remain in Mexico” policy that the S.C.
just upheld.

Yeah. Hold your breath for that. Dumbass.

I think the VAST MAJORITY of abortions are simply because an unwanted pregnancy occurred. It happens.

Another frequent reason is because the health of the woman or the developing fetus is such, that the woman determines that abortion is the best option for her.

Obviously VERY controversial. And it is my opinion that only the woman in whose body the pregnancy is occurring has the right to make a decision about whether to continue the pregnancy to term...or to terminate it.

It is my opinion that the Supreme Court's decision is one of the worst that has ever been made by that court...and is anything but a step in the right direction..

So I have been told

But you are still self unaware.

I am not self-unaware. We simply have different opinions about what I said. I know for a fact that I am old (born in 1936, so I AM old); I am a man (I am an old male, which is what a man is...and I am a man in the sense of "man-up"; and I am not a bitter person, despite what you may suppose. Yeah, here in a forum which allows for fairly spirited discussion, I often show a good deal of "spirit." But I have absolutely nothing to be bitter about. I consider myself one of the luckiest people on the planet. I have always been content with what I have...and I do not covet or envy what others have that I do not.

So, if I may suggest that you shove your opinion that I am somehow "self-unaware" up your ass, allow me to do so. I do it with a huge smile on my face...and absolutely no bitterness whatsoever.

P.S. Fuck you very much for allowing me this opportunity to say these things to you.

So that means that the vast majority of abortions are used as birth control... It's an easy peasy way to get rid of The unwanted pregnancy more than likely because other methods of birth control were either ignored or used and properly because that option was available... That is not going to be the case anymore... Obviously life-threatening health situations should be a consideration... But when this decision is made it is not just the body of the woman anymore... there is an unborn child developing... She's not deciding on plastic surgery..... That is her body... With the pregnancy there are two bodies at least involved... Does a down syndrome child not deserve to have a life? I'm not asking you that personally but some people have terminated pregnancy because of they terminated pregnancies because they wanted a boy and they were carrying a girl...etc...so...We'll just have to agree to disagree as usual
.... Have a good day..... (We should be working on helping girls and women make better decisions to begin with so that they don't ever have to even worry about having an abortion..)

Anybody who believes that the six moral deviants who blew up Roe v. wade were courageous doesn't know the difference between courage and pig shit.

Oh, my. You were doing so nicely, TOP...and then you fell off this cliff.

Claiming that abortion is used as birth control...is like suggesting that war is used as birth control.

Some people, apparently you, NEVER make mistakes. Others, the vast majority of others...do make mistakes. A birth control method does not work...or a forced situation (rape, incest) happens when birth control protocols are not in place.

Get back to where you were when you were doing so good.

You really should have thought twice or three times more before posting that highlighted sentence, TOP. It is condescending, it is almost painful to read.

Ha Ha Ha .Your "Get Off My Lawn" speech. Typical for a bitter old man.

Once again, you confirm that abortion was being used as a form of birth control...not even comparable to war as I'm sure you know....It was the "go to "when other methods "failed" or were simply ignored.... I like the big font...I should have thought of that...when I posted this: We should be working on helping girls and women make better decisions to begin with so that they don't ever have to even worry about having an abortion..) Do you know, that works...it actually works... ;)
what's condescending about encouraging preventative measures?

Courageous Supreme Court's abortion ruling makes history
Supreme Court ruling's dissenters made no serious attempt to support legal basis for Roe

Why high court is tossing out precedent
How SCOTUS abandoned 1973 Roe ruling.

NEW

Roe v. Wade is gone. Finally. The Supreme Court met the moment and made history, correcting the most egregious judicial distortion of the Constitution in living memory.

The leak of Justice Samuel Alito’s draft opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization overturning Roe was a shameful attempt to poison the well so that it would never see the light of day, at least not as the court’s majority opinion.

The seven-plus weeks that followed brought not only brazen intimidation tactics, but also the attempted murder of a justice and violence that extended to crisis pregnancy centers and churches.

RIP ROE: SUPREME COURT ABORTION RULING SETS STAGE FOR WHAT PRO-LIFE GROUPS DO NEXT

Those threats and violence failed. The court’s majority held, and those justices should be recognized for their courage to withstand the intense pressure targeting them on so many levels. Alito’s opinion does not significantly differ from the earlier draft other than to address other justices’ concurring and dissenting opinions.

“Courageous?”

You kidding, Mitch wrote the script six years ago, all these clowns had to finish was what they were told to do,

And I wouldn’t say picking up a dimwit who had announced his plans blocks away from any Justice’s house as a serious “assignation attempt”

Should be interesting to see what these Fox lemmings do when the same Court goes after contraception and inter racial marriages
