The simplistic morons of the MAGA element seem to think that if Europe fell...there would be no consequences for the United States.

That is just not so.

And, while I agree with the thought that we are equipped with so much armament that we would likely succeed if a war with the rest of the world broke out...the cost to ourselves and planet Earth would be so much, it would make the "victories" of King Pyrrhus of Epirus seem reasonable.

Those of us who are sane have to hope the MAGA morons get their heads out of their asses soon.
 
Our invasion of Venezuela established us as the clear global chief-villain, and if we even consider Greenland, we'll be tossed out of NATO, attacked by NATO, and hopefully--I mean this sincerely--LIBERATED by NATO.

If this leads to a nuclear holocaust which destroys human life on earth,
I have a hard time seeing how that isn't better
than the dystopia in which we're living right now.

Anybody who claims that the sixties were worse than this
doesn't understand either the sixties or now.

is well beyond what I'm capable of expressing in words.

Further, anybody who would try to defend our nation's criminal actions under Pigshit
deserves a level of suffering as yet unbeknownst to humanity--

If we did, it would free up tens of billions in defense spending and slam local European economies hard, particularly in Germany.


Then on top of that economic hit, the various European nations would have to provide for their own defense meaning more spending in that area. That in turn, means the European nations will either have to cut social-welfare programs--not happening--so that means raising taxes and taking that hit on their general economy. That's likely to meet resistance.

So, the only way out for Europe is to beg the US to either stay or come back and foot some or all of the bill for doing that.

These are, indeed, disgusting times. The people who cast a vote for Trump...or any MAGA Republican, for that matter, should consider themselves traitors to America and to the ideals of our nation.

Tough to figure how this plays out. At the moment, the succession proceeds: J. D. Vance...then Mike Johnson followed by Chuck Grassley. Can there be a more disgusting, dangerous scenario?
