there were 50 people in that room and 3 cops. those people could have stopped that unlawful arrest had they wanted to.

The cops were just doing their jobs. The Mayor is the one who's going to get his ass reamed on this.

are you kidding?.....who's instructions were the cops following by removing her?......
The mayor was telling them to stop and let her speak. You have it backwards. The cops were following orders from their crooked boss
I don't think so. I think shit's gonna hit the fan now.what a bunch of sheep. do you really think those cops are going to pay ANY price or punishment for what they did? they won't pay a dime. the city will defend any lawsuit, which will cost taxpayer money, or they will try to settle with the arrested person, which any payment will be paid by the cities insurance policy and not the cops themselves. and if by some miracle there is actually a trial and the courts determine that there was a rights violation, the cops will get qualified immunity because they were simply following orders/policies of the city, so the cities insurance company will again pay any fines and damages.
the end all, be all, of things is that this will continue to happen until the police and city officials are made to pay personally. Until then, you'll continue to see more of this unless we actually do something.
have fun being subjects of the state.

Quartzsite Police Chief Jeff Gilbert has asked the town council to declare a “state of emergency” due to all of the publicity the town has received over the arrest of a reporter at an open meeting in June.
The town council voted 5-0 in favor of the action; Mayor Ed Foster did not attend the emergency meeting Sunday afternoon. Gilbert reportedly said the action was needed because Jennifer Jones was “inciting riots” after videos of her arrest at the meeting sprung up across the Internet.
It was not immediately clear what outside assistance, if any, Gilbert seeks to enforce the state of emergency.
I know that if I were in charge I'd want to end all protests about freedom of speech that occurred because of the police suppressed freedom of speech.Sounds like someone is paranoid. The state of emergency will let the police deal with any protests swiftly and violently.
