Constructive Conversation

Why do I think you see them as useless because you agree with the bill being shouted down? And if this had been a republican you would be singing their praises?

Probably because you're retarded.

Democracy depends on an informed electorate. If you can't have a truthful, reasoned debate about this stuff then you can't get anywhere useful. New polls show that the public is HUGELY misinformed about what's in the house bill. They are believing the untruths being propagated by the Right, and they show up to these town hall meetings to shut them down and stop any conversation that might reveal what is actually in the stupid bill.

New strategy I suggest is to announce town halls, then don't show up to them. Let the conservatives show up to disrupt it, then lock the doors behind them and burn the place to the ground.

You're right, all those astroturf professional's for Obamacare were a bunch of bussed-in useless fucking lap dogs!

Yeah, there was a ton of those people there alright, disrupting and shutting down the town hall.

Oh wait, that's not what happened at all.

BS, there are a lot of Independents showing up at the townhall and they know what they are talking about.

The only people I ever hear at those things are the old fogies screaming about how the government needs to stay out of medicare and they shouldn't have death panels and a bunch of other bullshit.

So tell me, are death panels in the bill? How about free care for illegal aliens? How about forced euthanasia?

you know the way to stop that? stop writing 1,000+ page bills to reform something that is the only thing these people have ever known and then have town halls telling them you haven't read the fucking bill. my guess is that this would go a long way.

You're a fucking retard if you think a comprehensive reform of a terrible health insurance system can be written in a short and sweet way so dumbass rednecks can understand it without asking for help.

Bills are written they way they are to be precise in meaning so people like you can't take it out of context without the words being read back to you, revealing your embarrassing ignorance. The only problem is some people are too stupid to understand what it means even when they have it read to them. Postmodern Prophet is one of these individuals.

great....and when repubs are in the majority again....then you will of course agree the dems are stupid and should be shut out for loudly voicing disagreement, being uninformed as they have done in the past......

i know you're not hypocritical

You will never, ever see Democrats organizing to go to town halls and essentially disrupt them to the point where they might as well not even happen for weeks and weeks on end. And if they ever did, it would be some small vocal minority like Code Pink or Peta and they'd be criticized by the party leadership for stopping the democratic process.

Case in point: People got ARRESTED for showing up to Bush events wearing the wrong t-shirt or having the wrong bumper sticker on their car. People show up to Obama town halls with fucking assault rifles and they're perfectly welcome to stay.

We are not the same people.

1. where has this happened by republicans?

2. they are a small vocal minority at most of these town hall meetings

3. your case in point is weak....a couple of incidents i don't agree with and i'm not sure i have all the facts on

4. anti war riots....people closing down freeways in oregon....dude...don't tell me the left doesn't disrupt stuff

it certainly can, you dumbfuck cretin, if your political elite would pull their head out of their collectivist asses.

Bills are written they way they are to be precise in meaning so people like you can't take it out of context without the words being read back to you, revealing your embarrassing ignorance.
and the current one failed miserably.

Are you referring to the bill that was pushed for immediate passage despite the fact that most of our elected officials hadn't even read it??

I know that they don't read every piece of paper that comes across their desk, and that they rely on their staff to read and give them a synopsis.

But we are t alking about a bill that would have a huge impact of the largest segment of our economy. And the lawmakers hadn't even read it???

What we need are informed politicians. But that is just a pipedream.

The whole idea that they never read the thing is total bullshit. The implication is that they didn't know what was in it, which is a retarded assertion. If you were a senator you would have no time for eating or sleeping if all you did was read through every sentence of every bill that came to your desk with a lawyer to translate it for you sitting next to you. They know what's in the bill. They have staffs to tell them that stuff.

You haven't read it either. Neither have most of the people who rail against it. The ones who have read it all and still rail against it are the small minority of retards who can't understand what they read, so they come on this site to tell us about how it's going ot take away our ability to buy private health care, it's going to kill old people, and it's going to kill santa clause.

Our politicians are well informed about what they're voting on. You're a fucking retard who needs to drown himself in his bathtub if you're so fucking stupid you think they have no idea what they're voting on. They do. You're the one who has no clue. You're woefully mislead and ill informed.

I agreed that they cannot read everything that comes across their desk.

But when something this big comes across their desk, they damn sure CAN read it. This is not some bill to rename a highway after Jefferson's great nephew. This is a fundamental change in our lives and the economy.

And try not to stereotype everyone. I have not "railed against it". I have not talked about it killing anyone. I simply made a valid comment about your partisan politics. Which is painfully obvious, since my points have been greated with "You're a fucking retard who needs to drown himself in his bathtub"

Is suggesting that people who disagree with you should die what you call "Constructive Conversation"??

Ib1 needs a real job and a real education.
Most fossils are democrats
most people afraid of getting fucked out of their healthcare actually voted for Obama.

Constructive conversation to a leftie means, sit down, shut up, don't question, just bend over and take it with no vaseline..
