Conservatives unite against the enemy

Conservative

Repent, America!
"The president of the United States looks like he is a really good father, a really good husband. But he is a terrible president," Senator Marco Rubio said to a standing ovation.

Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell also took aim at Obama's economic record, accusing him of being "completely and totally AWOL" when it comes to reining in the country's massive debt.

"We're not in this mess because of a tsunami in Japan or a debt crisis in Europe," McConnell said. "We're in it because (Obama) got everything he wanted for two long years.

"When November comes around, voters will know who was in charge -- they'll know this president's record, and after that he'll have as much time to play golf as he wants," he said, referring to this year's presidential election.

In one animated speech after another, conservatives highlighted Obama's shortcomings, using increasingly apocalyptic metaphors.

"We are on the precipice of an abyss," said Colin Hanna, who heads the grassroots group Let Freedom Ring.

Senator Mike Lee invoked conservative icon and former president Ronald Reagan's image of America as "a shining city on the hill," and warned that after four more years of Obama it could "become a decaying city in a hole."

Republican congresswoman Michele Bachmann, a presidential candidate for months until she dropped out in January, savaged Obama's foreign policy and said he "made a mess" of the Middle East.

Senator Rand Paul, whose father, Texas congressman Ron Paul, is the fourth Republican vying for the White House, suggested Obama hates rich people, saying "the president continues to roam the country blaming millionaires and billionaires" for the economic woes of the American middle class.

Jeffrey Lord, a former Reagan advisor, told CPAC that Obama was "the greatest gift to conservatives" because he would unite them against him.

That has yet to happen. While Romney leads in the all-important delegates count, he slipped up badly this week, losing a trio of state contests to Santorum, and there is mounting skepticism about his conservative bona fides.

David Keene, president of the powerful National Rifle Association and a board member of the American Conservative Union, which hosts CPAC, said the party is tentative about Romney.

"In the primaries he's been drawing more and more conservative support, but the one thing that all of these people have to unite them, whichever one of these guys is nominated, is Barack Obama," he said.

LOL. This 'mess' started long before Obama got elected. We're in this 'mess' because of 30 yrs of failed conservative ideology. Trickle down, giant whoosing sound, anti American worker, 2 unfunded wars while cutting taxes for the 1% and on and on. Funny how 'conservatives' are trying to blame their failures on Obama. Face it you got nothing and your excuses are so thin voters can see thru it.

How was Vietnam funded?

Do your own research.

Actually, you should do some research.....on sites others than far left bullshit sites.......

If the crap you spewed in your #2 post was fact, I'd feel the same as you do......but alas, its nothing but far left spin and media driven sound bites that

have given life to the lies......

Its quite amazing how the msm has gained control of so many pinheads brains....how an across the board tax cut for EVERY taxpayer became a "tax cut for the rich" or
"the 1%"......how majority control of Congress by Democrats isn't the blame for anything but the powerless minority party is......how the buck stops with a republican president, but never gets to oval office of a democratic president.....how liberals get their political education from Bill Mahar and Jon Stewart and other comedians,....and on and on.....

This may come as a surprize to the moron who posted the OP but people who disagree with you are not your enemies. It's a free country. Their allowed to disagree with you. Particularly when you are an idiot.

Uh-huh. And now we're MUCH deeper in this mess because of 3 years of failed liberal ideology. Anything Republicans destroy, Democrats destroy a helluva lot faster.

The US has actually done pretty well compared to most other countries during this recession. Especially those that elected right-wing governments which implemented austerity programs. This was not a typical recession, and it was not to be expected that it'd be short.

Looks like these Conservatives are out of touch with the majority of Americans who when polled say they will vote for President Obama over all of the Republican canidates.

That is genius. If you don't vote for the winner you are out of touch.

I did not say that, if however, you say that the president is a terrable president, yet a majority are going to vote for him over your guy.... You are out of touch with that majority!

There is a sane third choice. Gary Johnson. Fiscal conservative for your ass. Elected in a state that has not twice elected a republican since we changed our law allowing a governor to serve two consecutive terms. Left our state in the black, vetoed over 700 pieces of legislation in 8 years. Is on the record saying that when he is asked to support a bill the question he asks is, "What business does the government have being involved in this?" Will end the great money drain of the drug war. Would have NEVER signed the Patriot Act or NDAA. He is pro-choice, and supports gay marriage, but as I am always told, I need to get over my disagreements with someone on two or three lesser issues for the purpose of electing a strong fiscal conservative. So what say you Social Conservatives, can you get over the fact that Johnson doesn't tow the ideological social conservative line to elect a PROVEN fiscal conservative?

So because polls show at the moment the President leading for re-election it invalidates the idea that he could be doing a terrible job?

Gary Johnson dropped out of the primary more than two months ago.

Gary Johnson is a candidate for the Libertarian nomination for President of the United States. He leads the polls among Libertarians with an amazing 73%. He will be on the ballot. Look at it this way, if want a fiscal conservative, and Johnson is THE GUY for that. So vote for him. If enough do the WORST that can happen is the election will be thrown to the House of Representative.

Can you translate that into English for us who aren't very smart? (me)

So if you are a Republican and the polls show the Democrat leading you are out of touch with the Democrats?
