Conservatives Outraged!

You know what ticked me off about "Schindler's list?" They made all of the Nazis seem like such jerks. And not one happy Jew! Typical Hollywood....

"Trail of Tears" movie, they were tears of joy! You know moving to a new home is bittersweet.

Ahhh, some nostalgic liberal idiocy. Brings me way back to President Reagan's visit to Bitburg cemetery.

Libtard #1: "All Germans who fought for Germany during World War II were Nazis and war criminals!"

Libtard #2: "Wait a minute... that can't be right, can it?"

Libtard #1: "Who cares about accuracy? We have a point to make!"

Libtard #2: "You're right. All Germans who fought for Germany during World War II were Nazis and war criminals!"

The truth is only a bump in the road for the liberal juggernaut.

You do realize that it was ignorant generalizations about people and biased historical presentations, like the ones you're making here, that led to things like slavery and Nazi atrocities in the first place .... don't you?

Or don't you care? You have atrocities yourself that you want to get off the ground?

Accurate in all cases? Is that what you're saying? You're saying there were zero instances of benevolent slave owners? Even the blacks who owned slaves?

Are you saying the portrayal was a 100% accurate portrayal of every American slave-master relationship?
Did anyone EVER claim that this movie was the complete story of any and every slave owner - slave relationship? It is the film depiction of a book, written by one black man about his experience as a slave. Are you suggesting it was an inaccurate depiction of that book? Are you saying the account in the book is inaccurate? What about this movie is propaganda ?

God Taft you really are a staggering moron. I thought USF was the only poster here who had somehow managed to weaponize stupidity.

"Planters viewed themselves as benevolent"

And I'm certain you view yourself as someone with a functioning brain. However, until I see a recent EEG, I remain unconvinced.

Yeah, let's talk about stupid.

I didn't say that. It was from PBS.org

I'm glad you don't like PBS. How about joining me in eliminating their federal funding?

Now we've come full circle in the con brain (excuse the grandiose use of "brain").

It's the liberals who are the nazi and slaveholder lovers!

Now we have Maineman deploying his favorite weapon of mass distraction again; moving the goal post.

Your original question:

was the film inaccurate in its portrayal of slavery?

That's a general and open-ended question, and not confined to the limited parameters of the film's story that you're now trying to apply to your woefully poor gotcha attempt.

Darla, do you have anything else left? I mean other than inserting words into my mouth, that were never uttered, and mocking your own fabricated lies?

No?

Didn't think so.

So, where ya stand on the PBS thing?

At least you are polite to the women, unlike your butt buddy Truth Deleter. Kudos for that. Now if we could just get past your massive fact denial and rewriting of history we might accomplish something.

Nobody put words in your mouth. You are making the case that there is some other side to what is now apparently "the slavery debate". In order to "prove" that there were "benevolent slave holders" you linked to a question asked of a professor from The University of Southern Mississippi. That question was "How did slave owners see themselves".

How slave owners "saw themselves' is irrelevant to whether or not there were "happy slaves". And it has exactly zero bearing on PBS.

Moron. I have run across a lot of different types of morons in my time, but my favorite will always be the white male moron, usually conservative, who views himself as some sort of genius. Trust me, you're a moron.

I am sure that slave owners believed they were being benevolent to their slaves, but it did not stop them from punishing them, the selling of family members or the fact that they were not free.

So what is your argument? Spit it out.

Is it that a benevolent slave owner never existed? You're saying that in the 400 years of American slavery there was never a slave owner who was benevolent towards his slaves? None?

I'm not putting words into your mouth, I'm just trying to figure out what your position is, because you won't spit it out.

Run with it dude. Benevolent slavery. It's a great platform. It's obviously catching on in the Republican party. I applaud that.

Of course there were. They were the ones who freed their slaves. Anything else retard?

As I suspected. You have no coherent argument. Only mischaracterizations and knee-jerk responses.

As ugly as it is by today's standards, slavery was the social norm during those times in the south.

Just as the social norm in the north was to cram immigrants into squalid tenements, make the father work 7 days a week, the mother take in sewing and washing, and have the children work as do piece work at home instead of going to school.

As miserable as those standards were, to say all factory owners and all slave owners were uniformly evil people is as ignorant as views were of blacks and immigrants often were at the time. Some were obviously way more enlightened than others.

For their times. Not ours.

But you guys excel at ignorance, so don't let me take you off your strides.
