If conservatives think presidents control gas prices, why did prices go up during Republican administrations?
you weren't embarrassed enough by the other thread?....look at this chart and guess at which point Bush removed the restrictions on domestic production....guess at which point Obama reinstated them......now tell me presidents can do anything to control gas prices....![]()
If allowing drilling in sensitive environments lowers prices, why did prices go up during Republican administrations?
as the chart shows, they didn't.....except for Bush and when he eliminated the Democratically favored limits on domestic oil production the price plummeted......by the way, is proving you're lying an "excuse"?.....
If conservatives think presidents control gas prices, why did prices go up during Republican administrations?
LOL. Your unattributed chart shows Texas "super unleaded" prices, PiMP.
Must you stretch the facts in a lame attempt to gain a point or something ?
No one claims presidents can CONTROL gas prices.....
thats not to say that US policy cannot or never has an effect on the price......because we know it does......
"Affecting the price" and "controlling the price" isn't the same thing....
I would be interested in a better explanation of that sentence.
Since February 2009, US oil production has increased 15 percent when seasonally adjusted. Prices in those three years went from $2.07 per gallon to $3.58.
we know it's just a coincidence, but February 2009 is the month that Obama reinstated restrictions on domestic oil production.....isn't it interesting that it's also the month when prices started to climb?.......
Cite, PiMP...since Obama also lifted restrictions, how do you explain the price increases?
Obama Opens Up Offshore Drilling and Exploration
In a move that angered environmentalists, President Obama today said he is lifting bans on offshore drilling and oil and gas exploration off the Virginia coast, and is expanding lease sales for oil and gas exploration on the Atlantic seaboard.

Obama lifts drilling moratorium
The deepwater drilling moratorium is over. Secretary of the Interior Kenneth Salazar announced today that the ban on leases for new drilling operations, first issued on May 28, is ending over a month before the November 30 deadline. He and Bureau of Ocean Energy Management director Michael Bromwich announced the end of the moratorium today on a 1:00 pm media conference call. "We are open for business," Salazar said.

he didn't lift the restrictions.....they are still in place......he lifted a temporary moratorium, but interestingly, his administration still isn't offering auctions......only one in 2011, none so far this year.....
Cite, PiMP...or will you claim you already proved your claim in another thread and refuse to link up?
yes.....you're the one who chose to start six threads on the same subject....it is not incumbent on me to provide the same answer to you in all six threads.....
