Look, COVID will not go away until there's a vaccine, which won't be until next year. Fauci's models show that the virus will re-surge this fall. So having hundreds of millions of Americans all go to the polls will merely spread the disease and force us to go through social distancing all over again.
That's why this election (and really, all future elections) should be done via mail-in balloting.
