Conservative climate change deniers are thoroughly brainwashed by big oil - proof

...and crabbers are fighting back, outting these greedy low life polluters/pirates...

While oil companies built seawalls and elevated their oil rigs to protect critical production infrastructure from the rising sea level, they concealed from the public the knowledge that burning fossil fuels could have catastrophic impacts on the biosphere.

That's what citizens and local governments across the United States are asserting in lawsuits against oil, gas, and coal companies. Plaintiffs in the cases have alleged that fossil fuel producers knowingly subjected the entire planet and future generations to the dire consequences of their actions.

On Nov. 14, fishermen in California and Oregon joined the legal fray by filing suit against 30 companies, mainly oil producers. The Pacific Coast Federation of Fishermen's Associations, the plaintiff, contends that the fossil fuel industry is at direct fault and must be held accountable for recent warming-related damages to the West Coast's prized Dungeness crab fishery, which catches millions of the tender-fleshed crustacean most years, and coastal chefs turn the critters into classics like Crab Louie and Crab Cioppino.

Information uncovered by reporters recently suggests that oil, gas and coal interests knew for decades that they were essentially facilitating the alteration of the Earth to build their own industries. As outlined in a recent New Yorker article by Bill McKibben, these companies promoted public relations schemes to misinform the public, discouraged the development of alternative energy sources, and even advertised the notion that more CO2 in the atmosphere could promote plant growth and global crop yields.

Liberal alarmists are unable to think beyond the garbage fallacy of hurling off-topic personal smears and assigning motives to their opponents instead of refuting their claims (total lack of substance, logic, or evidence-based anything is the defining feature of a liberal).

Thanks for demonstrating. :hand:

And using hilariously biased and discredited NPR propaganda as "proof" of anything is already hysterical. But you're also attempting to use it as "proof" of something that it doesn't even actually attempt to demonstrate. It's as if you're trying to demonstrate my point about liberal intellectual impairment.

buncha horseshit sucker

big oil has reduced you to a mindless consumer cutting his own throat

go for it

someone doesn't put their camp fire out, forest fire ensues, and suddenly global warming is responsible, and WE are the one's brainwashed? ok yuk yuk, whatever you say

but tell us, if we fall asleep in a field of poppies, will we too wake up in OZ, serious question

If Big Oil has so much money, and therefore influence, then how can this discussion be a thing...unless they want it to be?

The science says one thing, the conservative agenda says another. Boom, the big money downs out the facts. Thus the rest of the world and most of America understands man made global warming, it is jsut the American conservatives who have been brainwashed into believing alternate facts.

I disagree with you. While I agree there is a shift I don't think it's due to carbon emissions. I'm not a scientist and I don't claim to be one but I do find it curious that ocean currents are not prominently discussed. I also find it curious that there is practically no discussion on who would benefit from a carbon cap.

What have you personally given up to save us all from global warming?

Please list the steps you have taken

how can one person 'save us all' from the effects of AGW?

day drinking again?

I didn’t say one guy could. But it starts with one.

It would seem that if you were so concerned you would make personal changes

It appears you have not

Haven’t you at least bought an electric car?

sure dumbass, I conserve energy whenever I can and support progressive politicians fighting AGW, like Al Gore

what are you doing?

That isn’t very specific. What have you done to reduce your standard of living?

Me? I don’t do anything. I don’t believe in the hoax that is man made climate change so why should I do anything? I use all of the resources I want.

I do have a mountain retreat that is completely off grid and self sufficient but it is not because of the weather.

I am always amused when the AGW morons begin their arguments with lies and strawmen. Conservatives don't deny the climate has been changing. It's been doing so for millions of years.

What we do not buy into is this asinine notion that man can change the climate. So tell me wonder dunce, how did man cause the glaciers to begin retreating from the North American continent in the Pleistocene Epoch that began 2.5 million years ago?
