Perhaps you didn't read the article. Leaving troops there would have been illegal at worst, or the soldiers would have been subjected to Iraq's court at best. It's a moot point because Obama didn't have the authority via congress to illegally occupy another nation, and heads would explode if he left soldiers there without SOFA protection.

I never mentioned Reagan in the context of the withdrawal from Iraqnam.......Read for comprehension, as many times as necessary.....

I've been consistent.....the withdrawal was according to the terms of the 2008 SOFA, negotiated by Scrub.

I'm saying, if all that you say is true, then why didn't Obama leave US troops out of Iraq, instead of putting US boots on the ground in Syria, Yemen, Libya, Somalia, Iraq, and who knows where else?
