Congrats! We all belong to the government!!!

Of course there is a case to be made that we do belong to the gov't.

We pay taxes so that we can keep our belongings. The gov't can institute a draft and force us into the military. Our property can be taken, and what we are paid is determined by gov't employees. Our privacy is a joke. And most recently, we can be taken and imprisoned, without a trial, as long as they claim we are a "terrorist" threat.

Don't forget executed without trail, and we can be framed without police being afraid of punishment. Then there is forcible sterilization/abortions (for those capable of the latter), have our rights to travel restricted without cause or explanation, and any attempt at a redress from the government is cause for violence to occur towards us.

No I'm not kidding. Size and effieciency are not mutually exclusive. I work for a very lage company, compared to our smaller competitors we are far more efficient.
thus the difference between private enterprise and bloated government. the ONLY efficient governments i've encountered have been small and limited. all others are full of wasteful spending and more red tape than a red tape warehouse.

Where are these governments you've encountered and when?

I do not BELONG to the government. The government represents me and all of us. They work for us. I do not BELONG to any fucking body. Why have liberals become so enamored of the government that they don't mind believing that they belong TO the government.

Really? How inefficient was our government when the Japanese attacked us and Germany threatened the world with fascism? How incompetent was our government when it built the Panama Canal? How incompetent was our government when it landed a man on the moon? How incompetent was our government when it built our Interstate Highway system? How incompetent was it when it built the worlds greatest public education system? How incompetent?

Then let's talk about the abuses of large corporations of the past. Child labor? Our government ended that. Unfair business practices that were rigged for the wealthy and doomed the majority to poverty? Our government ended that. How about poisoning our children, friends, family and neighbors with the toxic waste? Our government ended that too. How about forcing people to work in unsafe conditions? Our government ended that too.

You're an ideological fanatic who is oblivious to facts!

Thats a load of shit and outright propaganda and anyone who believes that is a moron. Collaboration to promote the public good is not socialism, it is not "belonging to the government". Pooling our sources and expecting services the free market cannot efficiently provide doesn't make us solely dependend on government for our well being though we do depend on government to provide these services and provide them well and competently and the do benefit us all. The fact that someone EXPECTS our government to represent us, to help provide a well ordered, fair and equitable society doesn't make us socialist. The fact that we believe in the rule of law that all must obey and not one set of law for the masses and another for the elite doesn't make us enamored of government.

We have the greatest form of government in the world that provides the greatest degree of freedom and liberty for all it's citizens of any form of governance in the world and I for one am damed proud of that fact and of our great heritage. This anti-government non-sense is just a stupid self fullfilling prophecy for failed government, chaos and is a blatant disregard for the rule of law. Good governance is damned important and yes, the powers of our government are limited so they can't completely dominate our public and private lives with tyranny and if you don't know enough about how to stand up and fight tyranny with the incredible tools our founding fathers gave us to do so, then somewhere down the line you've lost track of what it truly means to be an American!

never mind. I thought you were serious about wanting to learn something, but I see you're just about being a fucktard liberal crying 'libertarian anarchy' and somolia crap.

And the federal government had no jurisdiction over them?
you have two choices to believe when it comes to the federal government. You can acknowledge what you see with your own eyes concerning the tremendous growth, money waste, bloated budgets, and immense quantities of bureaucratic crap that comes with a monstrously sized government entity, or you can be a knee dropping, slobbering, state worshipper like mott. If the federal government is so efficient, you liberals wouldn't bitch about the size of the military budget, which only shows that y'all reek of hypocrisy.

You didn't answer my question. In the 'small governments' you encountered growing up in the small towns you were raised in, did the federal government have jurisdiction over them - yes or no?

It is backasswards... The Government belongs to us. However we have myriad different beliefs on how to govern, including some who believe we should do it without government (Anarchists). This would be like a Christian saying that "we all belong to the church" because most people believe in God, while they ignore the different Churches and Temples that exist and that many don't believe in a God at all.

Funny you should mention Somalia, as they're currently experiencing more economic growth than we are (by about 2x) due in large part to the small government.
ROTLMAO!!!! Dude, if your net worth is one penny and I give you another penny I've just increased your net worth by 100%. That's exactly what your analogy adds up to. :)

Really? How inefficient was our government when the Japanese attacked us

They bombed the crap out of Pearl and we didn't know they were there until the first bombs hit. Hence the ass kicking we took that day.

and Germany threatened the world with fascism?

How long did it take us to engage Germany after they began that war?

How incompetent was our government when it built the Panama Canal?

Who controls that canal now?... and why?

How incompetent was our government when it landed a man on the moon?

A true success.

How incompetent was our government when it built our Interstate Highway system?

How much foresight did they use when building it? Did they leave room for future expansion?

How incompetent was it when it built the worlds greatest public education system? How incompetent?

ROFLMAO... surely you jest

Why is it that you attempt to point out successes as some sort of evidence that they are efficient everywhere? Why is it that you and those like you always seem to go to the 'if someone says there is government inefficiency, point to a success and act like that is the only thing the government does'?

Tell us Mutt...

What is the efficiency at the average DMV?

What is the cost effectiveness of the current Postal System?

What is the efficiency at which a refinery can get permits?

What is the efficiency of our piss poor public education system?

What is the efficiency of our department of defense?
