No, what's dishonest is claiming you can't love an extinct country, and then waving it's flag and giving America the finger. Something already was done, between 1861 and 1865. The sacrifice has already been made. Removing monuments to treason from public spaces is just tidying-up.

Believe it or not, the 1st Amendment guarantees you the right to proudly display the CSA flag, the Nazi flag, the Soviet flag, the Iranian flag, the ISIL flag, and any other grave enemy to America. You seem to think that if I advocate violating the Constitution, that it will bring me down to your level. Nothing is that low, but, it would still not absolve me from illiberalism.

The CSA flag has less business being displayed on public land than do monuments to Pol Pot, Mao, Stalin, and Hitler.
