Condi Rice for VP?

I make no bones, I have ALWAYS loved Condi Rice! Even if I weren't a big Romney fan (which I am not) this is the kind of thing that would excite the crap outta me, and I think there are many conservatives who share my sentiments.

you don't need to excite the conservatives. romney is the borg, and he's assimilated all of them. Conservatives hate obama so much that any reservations they have about romney can be easily overcome. No diehard conservative in the south wants another 4 years of obama. That's the useful dynamic romney has going right now.

As such, rice is a terrible pick. She'll remind everyone of the bush administration and probably alienate a lot of swing voters.

also you're dreaming if you think they can chip away at 10% of the black vote . .

Really? You think a half-black Hawaiian/Kenyan who was raised in Indonesia, trumps a full-black Alabama woman who grew up in the segregated South as the daughter of a black minister, with most black people? I don't know that black people vote for people based on skin color, I certainly don't, but if they do... or if that is their "reason" for supporting Obama, I don't see how Condoleeza Rice couldn't 'impress' just as well. I'm telling you, if Obama loses the solidarity of the black vote, this thing is over. That is his largest support base, by far. He simply can't afford to lose much more than 10% of them, and still have a chance, in my opinion.

Now all of this is in the vacuum of race, ignoring what is happening in the world around us. If the economy remains as is, I don't think Obama will have enough support from ANY demographic to defeat Romney. Things are just too bad and not getting any better out there, and THAT has much more to do with who we elect than anything else, historically. In light of that fact, I do believe that Condi Rice could serve as an alternative role model for many disillusioned black youth, who supported Obama. Remember, we have 4 graduating classes from universities out there, with degrees in hand, who can't find jobs. That's a dynamic Obama didn't have in 2008.

This also completely silences the whole "racist white privilege" meme from the left as well... puts a great big SOCK right in the old kisser!

And on the issue of the Iraq War.... Karl Rove couldn't have planned anything better himself, than to have Democrats drag up Iraq again. NO ONE wants to re-debate Iraq... I'm tellin' ya! It's a dead and stinking horse that we all want to leave alone now, and focus on getting the wheels moving again in America. To make the political miscalculation of going back and debating the 'wisdom' of Iraq, would be a terrible mistake, in my opinion. I don't think 'swing' voters want to hear that... I don't think that is what they are sitting on the edge of their seats waiting to hear before they decide... just don't think that.

The mormons picking a black woman to stand next to Mittens!!?? Never! This thread is so lame. You guys live in lala land.

It would be interesting to have somebody who is pro-choice... Condi would be a very interesting choice IMO.

Asinine Statement Du Jour:

:rofl2:

(and I do believe he wasn't joking...)

Why do I keep hearing she is "pro-choice?" Is there some source for this? Because I have never heard that about Rice, and I can't imagine such a pro-lifer as Bush was, he would have her that high in his cabinet. It seems I recall her answering a question about it once in an interview, and she simply declined to express her personal view, said that was a private matter, but she respected the SOCTUS ruling in Roe. I don't know that I would call that "Pro-choice" really.
