Were you there?
No! But I learned about it through literature on the subject.
And from what I read, slavery was very brutal, and not a beautiful thing.
Thanks for asking!
Were you there?
why do you discuss issues when you don't understand them.......nobody is denying slavery was a bad thimg.......but there is no reason to teach children today that they are guilty because of it

that is what I already said. Yes whites will be the largest minority but they will amount to less than 50% and about half of them are democrats. Now add in the other 50% of the population (the non-whites) and take into consideration that every one of those groups votes overwhelmingly for the democrat.
Just trying to point out that the oppressed often become oppressors, it's nothing new.
Our nation's history, both the good and the bad, has been being taught in public schools more than adequately for decades.
What you are advocating is going to only result in turning more people off.
This constantly pounding and hammering on every little minute detail of the long gone past in order to perpetuate minority victim status is eventually (and it's already happening) going to make people just tune it out and cause them to become suspicious about the true intent behind the agenda.
As I said, that is already happening.
A lot of decent, otherwise non-racist moderate white people are already getting tired of the constant hammering about race in this country.
But as is so common with zealous advocates, they never recognize where the lines are or when they push something too far.
Got news for you.... currently whites comprise over 60% of the US population.
Hispanics are somewhere above 20% and growing, while blacks remain stuck at around 13% with Asians, Pacific Islanders, Native Americans, Aleutians and others making up the remainder.
And while it's possible that all those disparate non-white groups together MIGHT someday outnumber whites, in terms of individual groups, whites will remain the largest single ethnicity in this country for a long, long time.
You're not saying anything that anyone didn't already know. There is no question that white people will comprise less than 50% of the population within decades. That might/should hasten the dismantling of white privilege, especially as Republicans continue to alienate people of every color.
The term "white privilege" is a misnomer at best.
One could say that there is an advantage to being white, but that mostly has to do with nature and genetics.
Nothing we consciously ever had or have any control over.
Calling it a "privilege" is just snarkiness that belies the envy and jealousy of those who have failed to step up when given the opportunity.
An attempt to lessen or downplay the determination and industriousness of those to whom they've assigned this so-called "privilege".
Black people who put in the work and effort to succeed in this country have every single privilege anyone else has.
Every negative stereotype the rest of the country has of them, they largely bring upon themselves.
Sorry, but that's just the way it is.
Spoken like a white person who can't admit your own privilege.
Spoken like a misguided sjw with a pathological need to make yourself feel superior to anyone who doesn't buy into your misguided wokeness.
Whatever you're describing has more to do with you than it does with me. I don't need to make myself feel superior to anyone.
I simply know the difference between right and wrong.
Wrong.
It has nothing to do with me at all.
I just believe that people who think like you, have some inner need to make yourselves feel better about yourselves.
Or like you're more generous, enlightened and high minded than the rest of us.
I bet you're on the younger side, lily white and were brought up in an actual privileged environment.
Not surprisingly, you automatically assume all white people, including those of us who weren't handed everything on a silver platter like you were, have the same kind of privilege you did.
Basically you're projecting your own privileged upbringing on everyone else, so you can feel less guilty about it.
So do I.
You're just confusing the two.
Holy fuck. You could not have bombed harder. To make so many assumptions with so much detail while being thoroughly wrong indicates that you can't rationally have this conversation because you already have wild preconceptions that disable your ability to think about the issues reasonably. Wokeism is not by its nature bad. Neither is Black Lives Matter. There are undesirable aspects of both, but your caricature of everyone identifying with either was likely formed by the media. You are fucked in the head! And so is EARL!
Among other things...
Condy Rice expressed herself most eloquently on the subject. Perhaps you ought to watch the video or is that too much to ask??
The US will become ‘minority white’ in 2045, Census projects
https://www.brookings.edu/blog/the-...ecome-minority-white-in-2045-census-projects/
No it is plain fact that whites will become the minority by 2045 and just 5 years ago this was supposed to be 2050 so it is coming faster than expected. You may be correct that whites may be the largest minority but when Hispanics, Blacks, Asians and Indians (and democrats) all know that republicans are a bunch of bigoted racists those minorities all predominantly vote for Democrats. It is becoming harder every national election for Republicans to win and inside of 10-15 years they won't win any national elections. You may still have republican governors in the severly uneducated states like AL, LA and MI but we will no longer have any republican presidents. We already have red states turning blue but you don't see blue states turning red. Deny it if you care to but I'm citing simple fact, whites will be the minority and as long as the rest are overwhelmingly on the left, assholes like you will be shit out of luck.

Excellent graphic! Except half of the whites depicted as red in that first line of yours are democrats, which way will they vote?
Here's the same graphic where each group are separated by their political affliation rather than race.

So if CRT was taught to you, you would have felt guilty? Slavery, lynching and Jim Crow made me feel a bit guilty about what we did to blacks. But that was our real history. We should learn it.
