Now we’re beginning to hear rumblings about the possibility that the Obama administration is looking at the trillions of dollars of potential revenue in these accounts as Jeff Berwick is warning us:

“[T]he National Seniors Council has announced that ‘Obama (has) Begun to Push for a New National(ized) Retirement System.’ According to them, a recent hearing sponsored by the Treasury and Labor Departments marked the beginning of the Obama Administration’s effort to nationalize the nation’s pension system and to eliminate private retirement accounts including IRAs and 401k plans.”

Who will object to such a takeover? Certainly the people who have money in these accounts, but not the people who don’t. The appeal will be made to the 51 percent who voted for Obama. “Why should the wealthy have what you can’t afford to participate in?,” promoters of the takeover will argue.

Retirement funds will be in the same category as Social Security, collected and managed by the State. Is there historical precedent for this type of statist action? You bet there is:

“In late 2010 Hungary’s government gave its citizens a choice: hand over all their savings to the government or lose all their state pension money. The government sought control over Hungarians’ $14 billion in individual retirement accounts. The Bulgarian government did something very similar when it tried to transfer $300 million in private early retirement savings into a state pension scheme. They only managed to get roughly 20% of the funds they sought. Last year Ireland raided the private stash in the National Pension Reserve Fund with a 0.6% levy under the label of a ‘jobs plan’ in order to bail out insolvent Irish banks.”

Liberals will never change. You can trust them always to believe and act as liberals, that is, liberal with other people’s money. None of it is really ours. We only get to keep what they allow us to keep.

I brought this up weeks ago. Senator "DO IT FOR PAUL" Harkin held hearings in the Senate a couple of years ago.

And yes it will be pitched as "fairness" because not everyone has a 401k.

It will also be billed as a way to "bolster" Socialist inSecurity and make it "solvent" even though there are those who claim that it is indeed solvent.

The question isn't whether or not the Statists will try to pull off something like this. The question is whether any of the obedient, lapdog libs like Desh and Darla will squeal.

My guess is that they will first screech that no such thing could happen and that we are conspiracy nuts.

Then when OWEbama trots it out, they will dutifully ge in line like all good women do for their man

Pinheads don't look at right or wrong or the danger of 'big brother' taking your freedoms away....they look at party only.....and as long as its others
getting the shaft, the fools think they'll never be on the receiveing end of the injustice.
They're narrow minded, willful idiots.....

My Good Lord, you are a moron Bravo.

I
DIOT.

Well pRune....I don't write the articles.....but

the US Senate DID PASS S-1867 which calls for the repeal of Article 125 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), which made it illegal to engage in sodomy with humans or sex with animals.

This is from the bill....
17 (d) REPEAL OF SODOMY ARTICLE.—Section 925 of
18 such title (article 125 of the Uniform Code of Military
19 Justice) is repealed.

and this is the Article....
Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ)
ART. 125. SODOMY

(a) Any person subject to this chapter who engages in unnatural carnal copulation with another person of the same or opposite sex or with an animal is guilty of sodomy. Penetration , however slight, is sufficient to complete the offense.

If you have some clarification, show us....maybe there are some details omitted.....
The Bill S-1867 was passed

I posted the pertinent lines in the bill referred to...the bill is on-line

and I posted Article 125 Sec. 925
of the UCMJ and it does deal with the subject at issue...

So refute it or stfu.....personally, I hope you can refute it...(just in case you ever do your duty)

I know you'll do anything to deny bad news because of your partisanship....you need to get over that.

and changing the topic of a thread is the typical method you always use, go after the poster or the source and ignore the rest.

So what you just posted proves that the US Senate supports sex with animals for military personnel?

Unbelievable ?......yes, it is.....

Like I said ...personally, I hope its crap and you can refute it.....I couldn't find any caveats to the claim...maybe you can....I hope so.....

but this is off topic to the op and I sincerely hope thats not correct either.

Of course it's not correct. That was my whole point, that you were linking to some bizarre website with no credibility.

What's hysterical is that the hearings this "announcement" refers to:

“[T]he National Seniors Council has announced that ‘Obama (has) Begun to Push for a New National(ized) Retirement System.’ According to them, a recent hearing sponsored by the Treasury and Labor Departments marked the beginning of the Obama Administration’s effort to nationalize the nation’s pension system and to eliminate private retirement accounts including IRAs and 401k plans.”

were over TWO YEARS AGO.

So what we've got is just another greasy neo-Con blogger claiming a report from two years ago as proof to back his insanity.

An OPINION piece based on old info...typical Rightie "proof".

Well, we'll just have to watch for future events......but not in this order.....

First, the political hearings that will claim only the rich are benefiting from private retirement accounts.

Then they’ll point out how stock market crashes and volatility put your money at risk. In fact, if we do have another market crash, look for this to be a key reverberation.
(heard some of this already)

Then they put the spin machine into action, so that you think you’re getting unbiased analysis and truth.
(must be referring to msm)

Then they open the guilt spigot and make those who have personal retirement savings wonder if they are being greedy,

Then those who don’t have savings will direct their anger not just at the rich, but anyone who has put any money away.(this has been ongoing for years)

Finally, they will pass a bill, which we have to pass first in order to know what’s in it, and it’ll be a done deal.
(Rumors are already circulating that new IRS forms will have a place set aside for disclosure of you 'net worth', irrelevant as it is to income tax.)

The government of this country is coming for everything they can get their hands on.

Is this what you found out googling?

Public employees pensions are severely underfunded, many corporate pension funds are also underfunded.
This will be a bailout for them.
Another way of governments and corporations externalizing costs for retirees.

Honey you got that right.....underfunded is putting it mildly....
Corporate pensions have to be funded at 125% by law I believe....don't know how they could get around that but they probably do, I don't have the data to say for sure.
I do know my own pension is well funded and they actually transfer millions out of it to pay for retirees health insurance too....

Anyway, public employee costs are by definition externalized, if by that you mean taxpayer funded....the entire government, state or federal is taxpayer funded...
where else would they get money.
Its not unknown for government to take over corporation pensions when the business goes bankrupt....but not otherwise....its been going on for decades.
