oct 30 2023 Court arguments began Tuesday in a Colorado case seeking to prevent former President Donald Trump from appearing on the ballot in the 2024 presidential contest.

The weeklong hearing began with presiding judge Sarah Wallace denying a motion by Trump’s legal team that she step aside due to her past donation to a liberal group working to keep Trump off the ballot, along with donations to many Democrat candidates for office.

Trump never “engaged in insurrection,” and his questioning of the 2020 election results is political speech protected by the First Amendment, they argue.

“Trump’s comments did not come close to ‘incitement,’ let alone ‘engagement’ in an insurrection,” they wrote in a filing.

His attorneys further question whether the amendment even applies to the office of the president. The text of the amendment specifies “Senator or Representative in Congress” and “elector of President and Vice President” but not “President.”

Let people vote for whomever they want.

If they keep voting for assholes, maybe we'll take a better look at whom we allow to vote;

or we'll deserve the steady succession of assholes.

So? People are allowed to march to the capitol. You want calls for insurrection look to kammy harris. In the summer of 2020 she called for more BLM riots. Even snopes agrees she said it. I don't know why repubs don't talk about that.

Agreed. Only male land owners should be allowed to vote. We were better back then.

Elections don't work. It never has worked because there is so much cheating. It's gotten worse in the last 6 years but it has always been a problem and always will be. We need to follow the constitution and bring back states rights. Then people can vote with their feet. They can't rig that.

Trump was taught by Roy Cohn to never make direct statements. The evidence will show that he sat in on meetings and approved plans for the insurrection without ever actually stating it directly. Trump is a mob boss.

You’re silly, there are other ways to prove intent, it doesn’t require a direct order.
