Coke withdraws from group that backs Stand Your Ground law

Looks like Pepsi is the way to go. Meanwhile, perhaps some people can start mugging the Coke board members without fear of reprisal...
 
Coca-Cola is better than Pepsi Cola.

Mt. Dew, Mug Rootbeer, etc. are better than Mello-Yellow, Barqs Rootbeer, etc., so Pepsi is an overall better company.
 
Coke and Pepsi have withdrawn all advertising, membership and support of ALEC, the Koch Bros. arm of Florida chase, shoot, kill and call it stand your ground bullshit. Good on Coke and Pepsi!!!!!

Are you disappointed that Coke and Pepsi have now disavowed the idiotic propensities of a Florida legislature gone amok and Koch Bros. instigated hatred and fear-mongering? What was the groan all about?

Of course he is, because it affects his "rights".
 
That ALEC is behind laws like Stand Your Ground and efforts to restrict voter registration (neither of which has much to do with the organization’s stated pro-business agenda) apparently is making some members uneasy.


On Monday, the Coca-Cola Co. withdrew its membership.



“Our involvement with ALEC was focused on efforts to oppose discriminatory food and beverage taxes, not on issues that have no direct bearing on our business,” the company said in a statement. “We have a long-standing policy of only taking positions on issues that impact our company and industry.”
