Coca Cola Commercial

You are likely correct, I would just like to hear it from them. I simply cannot imagine why that would bother anyone, this is America, we celebrate differences and our strength comes from the variety of people who came here. English is not American, its English, we are separate from that cultural root.

I was wondering if they were upset because there were two men holding hands toward the end.
I actually didn't catch that part. Alls I know is that my wife, the immigrant, loved it and got a big kick when they sang "For Amber waves of grain" in Tagalog. Coke may have just won over a new consumer as she currently prefers Pepsi to Coke.

It was not like it was some official document, or like we did not already know the words. Being upset about it seems very silly. I guess they know its silly as they refuse to talk about it.

What if we don't give a shit about it Jarod? I watched the game with about eight other people at a buddy's house. I tried to watch some of the commercials but with all the noise and conversations going on I only got to a see a few. I saw glimpse of the Coke commercial like I caught a glimpse of many others. I didn't think anything about it like I didn't think anything about any of the others.

Well then you don't give a shit about it. I'm sure for many it was just another advert but his question wasn't directed towards you. His was directed towards those that didn't like it.

If you disliked the "Coke" Commercial, are you brave enough to tell us why?

This is America where people of all backgrounds and origins come together to make up one unified country. Singing America the Beautiful in something other than English, is wrong.

Also, throwing in the gay couple as well, was typical pandering to 1% of the population.

It was a freaking commercial that was meant to appeal to a broad range of people, throughout the entire country.

This is such sophistry. Do you think our strength came from the people who came here and flew planes into the World Trade Center?

I just didn't like it. But, I didn't like lots of commercials.

How is it wrong?

It was on bad taste and a bad commercial.
That's why it's not in the top listings.

What was in bad taste? Having multi lingual people singing America the beautiful? In Alaska,we have a lot of Americans that don't speak English, they speak their Native dialogues, but they are American just like myself and just like yourself.
