I know all to well how "reality" works. I'm an "old school" machinist and toolmaker. It's one of the reasons I have the position I do. Modern CNC machinists can't do what I do. I make and modify prototypes when they are developed (and recommend or make the required tooling for the CNC boys), CNC's spit out hundreds once they are perfected.

The thing that sucks about the whole damn situation it is the fact that these people who've lost their jobs would much prefer to support themselves. Isn't the fact that losing your pride because you've lost the means to support your family humiliating enough? Obviously it isn't.

I do recall Hillary stating this very reality and included retraining programs for those displaced. Trump, on the other hand skirted reality and lied.

Hello and greetings RB60,

Nobody is happy that people are losing jobs. They are expressing a sentiment of vindication because this is what the left has been saying all along. Those jobs are not coming back. Nobody is happy that more people are going on government assistance.

Being denied the ability to support your family is a humiliation that many poor American blacks have lived their entire lives. It is one thing to have known a good life and have that eaten away. It is quite another to have never had a real chance at it in the first place from birth.

Besides the competition from newer more efficient forms of energy, don't forget that automation has also eliminated thousands of coal jobs. And even with increased production levels coal can't compete. Hey. Maybe they could all move to the city and drive UPS trucks. Not so fast. All those jobs are doomed also. Automation again.

Those jobs won't comeback unless Trump is allowed to roll back draconian restrictions placed by Obama's EPA.
