At least the ones around Wasilla. lol A lot of Alaskans are displaced oil field workers from Texas who came up to work on the Pipeline and then the Slope, and stayed. Wasilla has more tiny little non-denominational fundie churches per capita than probably the South has. You can't drive a quarter mile, it seems, without seeing one. It also has a lot of crime and substance abuse problems like you pointed out.

That being said, there are plenty of intelligent, educated, non-meth head Alaskans.
