CNN Obnoxious Jockeying of Trump-Putin G-20 Meeting

anatta

100% recycled karma
Turned on some Fake News and some woman is interviewing Dems ( so far all Dems )
and she's asking the guy "will Trump bring up the election w/Putin?" (G-20)

Representative MENTIONS Syria and the Ukraine as "important issues"-
then goes into the typical harangue that Trump denies the hacking ( which is no true)

then it's "what do you think of the Tweet" - and the dude says "dictators attack the media.."

OMFG..such tripe.. 15 minutes on Tweets/hacking/Russiaphobia,
and a bare mention of the hot spots of Syria/Ukraine ( Donbass)

Segued into a discussion of "does the CNN tweet make America safe?"... *clik* the off button

I bet there'll be some serious discussion about our mutual and individual problems. I don't trust Putin as far as Trump can throw him.

no need to trust..recall Reagan's "trust but verify".
yes.there is a desperate need to advance some mutual issues

Then turn the channel and watch FOX, they'll give you everything you want to hear, it's cable "news," infotainment, if you want to know what is,going on, read

I do read. voraciously..it's the poor slobs that get their news exclusively off Fake News that is the concern

The unending, mindless, RW mantra.

all over..no particular order. The usual sites. Reuters /Telegraph/ much less WaPo now -
although I have to at least skim it.
NYTimes -same deal ( excellent foreign affairs coverage - my prime go to on Libya)

Fox News site - i switch around the TV in the background.
I sit at my home office desk and do most of my posting on a desktop -TV in the background
and where ever I google up stories of interests. South China Morning Post ( Hong Kong edition) if i remember to look.
even some RT at times, but mostly only if it comes up on google

So, shorn of the effluvium - "I watch a lot of FOX, Veg.....Sure, I occasionally look away when Drudge refreshes, but FOX is my Go To funnel."

I have no idea what you are mumbling. I do not use drudge ( it's a clearinghouse - but i rarely look).

I have no "go to" -that's the lazy way like the chumps who glom onto the latest Maddow Russian Connection.

Gee. I thought you were a serious poster for a second..my bad.

Freerepublic is a good clearing house. I'll scan it several times a day to read from various sources. The commentary below the articles are Hyper partisan so I don't waste much time reading it. Though occasionally the random internet dude will have some good insight. I keep my Twitter feed stocked with both sides of the ideological fence. Also I have people overseas on Twitter that have helped me form some opinions from across the way.

Anyone who gets their info from the standard print or TV media will only get part of the picture---and that includes Fox. At worst, they'll be totally mislead and misinformed.

I'll check it out. One thing I like about a Tv in the background is if i hear a breaking story, I can go find it.

I don't use lit of Twitter -i tend to be more verbose the 140 characters -although I do follow a few close accounts I enjoy.
Bingo. you gotta multi-source

Yeah, Twitter is quite the adjustment for us debate board nerds lol.

But I've been getting into it lately just for something different.

it can discipline your writing if verbose. I'm not fond of it though, can't do"nuance".
It's a lot of unsupported declaratives . My writing is choppy enough. i tend to drop pronouns and such
