Cluster Bombs On Civilians

Do you have any major sources? Or are they being kept out?

It's not like I don't believe they are capable of it, I just don't find any credible sources reporting it.

You are getting defensive over nothing more than my stating that there is no real evidence of it right now. I mean "Haaretz.com"? Who are they?

Although this is the first story that I read saying that they are currently using cluster bombs.

Are you kidding with this? I sure hope so.

Elaborate. The story cites "sources", gives no pictures and as far as I understand has nothing more than that.

And Haaretz.com is not a major source of news that I know if in these parts.

Again, is this the only story about it? Why are we not seeing this from BBC at the very least with their admitted anti-Israel bias? Are they being kept out? (serious question, are they?)

That is an Israeli newspaper, and the reason why I know that is because an Israeli huffpo blogger called them "self-hating Jews".

Ok, point blank question for you: Do you think there should be sanctions for using cluster bombs in areas with significant civilian populations? Do you think Israel is justified in using cluster bombs (IF they did so)?
Moot points until you come up with proof.

I have to IA this guy. It's too upsetting to me to read these right wingers in the middle of a war. It always has been. I truly feel hate. And I don't want to feel that.

I honestly feel the world would be a better place without you. I could only wish that Karma worked in such a way that you got a rocket filled with white phosphorus right in your ass. But it doesn't work that way, and pieces of shit like you who live in some southern bum fuck town, will likely never pay the price of the murders you support and cheer.

And that's too bad.

The Southern Man thrives on your hatred and bigotry. Please show me more! :)

Cool. According to the wiki article it has an incredibly small readership.

Are the major newsies being kept out and are they incapable of reaching any sources?

Yes, they are. All the reports are coming from BBC reporters based in Israel as the Israelis, in breach of a ruling from their own supreme court, still refuse to allow journalists in.

Well, there are Palestinian sources who say so, so it must be true.

Seriously though... Israel has used them before and has no qualms about using them, it is likely they are again. Gaza is an incredibly highly populated place, use of such would be grossly wrong.
FDR used incendiary bombs on German cities and nuclear bombs on Japanese cities. These helped the Allies to win the war. Both tactics were justified due to the nature of the enemy and the conflict.

FDR didn't have the access to better war technologies that Israel does today. Cluster bombs are not the best option in such places where civilian casualties are to be avoided.

There weren't BBC reporters in Gaza before this? Apparently cell towers are still working and Haaretz can still reach sources. If a newspaper with a readership like theirs has a working phone BBC can't find one?

I'm non-plussed.

FDR wasn't trying to reduce civilian casualties. In fact just the opposite.

Haaretz is the political newspaper in Israel. It is a major news source in Israel. Pretending their reporting isn't sufficient is silly. Now, you can quibble with their sources all you want, but dismissing Haaretz as a minor paper with small readership is nonsense.

Israel is, at least according to their official releases they are. It would not serve them well to attempt to just kill as many as possible and "let god sort them out".

Yes, I gave a link earlier to an AP piece stating that Israel has barred reporters from Gaza. I would imagine that some have snuck in, and maybe we will get better reporting on this soon, I don't know.

Oh that's right, thanks Charver, I forgot about the Israeli Supreme Court ruling that Israel had to let them in, and the Israelis ignored that ruling, showing that the rule of law is meaningless in Israel.

It is the oldest (before Israel was a state) and brags about the education level of its very small readership, according to your article on it.

It is "the newspaper" like "the New Yorker" is "the news source"....

It is also known among many to be a bit anti-Zionist, understandable and IMO a positive in their favor.

As i understand it they have been barring journalists from entering for some time now.

Maybe they just don't like the BBC, what with it's so-called anti-Israeli bias and all.

I'm not arguing this with you. I was merely providing you with the most immediate means to inform you of your error. Apparently, that was a mistake.
