The exclusive Horatio Alger Association brought the justice access to wealthy members and unreported V.I.P. treatment. He, in turn, offered another kind of access.

Prominent among his Horatio Alger friends has been David Sokol, the onetime heir apparent to Warren Buffett at Berkshire Hathaway. Mr. Sokol describes the justice and his wife as “close personal friends,” and in 2015, the Sokols hosted the Thomases for a visit to their sprawling Montana ranch. The Sokols have also hosted the Thomases at their waterfront mansion in Florida.

Before you say, prove he did something illegal, consider who he associates with on a personal level. This forms his idea of who he thinks are affected by his court decisions.

He didn't change his views because of any club he joined.

Watch his senate hearings where the democrats went on and on about how conservative his rulings were.

Only if by conservative you mean those with wealth who want to influence Supreme Court decisions.

The Horatio Alger Association is a very honorable club.

There is nothing wrong with being 'conservative'.

There is everything wrong with becoming besties with groups of right leaning political activist billionaires who have created or participate in bodies whose function is to influence judicial rulings towards conservative and corporate ends.

- A police commissioner should not be taking gifts and going on private vacations with group members of 'Abolish the Police'...
- A top military officer should not be taking gifts and going on private vacations with groups trying to disband the American Military or disband NATO..
- when i was early in my career as a Purchasing Manager at a corporation it was made clear we could take NO personal gifts, direct or indirect, from anyone doing any business with the corporation...


And these right wing judge should not be taking undisclosed massive and significant benefits worth many times their annual salary from billionaires very involved in the activist side of conservative and corporate politics.

He changed them a lot. An example is Affirmative Action, which he said is responsible for his success.

So you are saying that Thomas would have ruled differently if not for his friends?

Which cases in particular was he going to side with the liberals on?
