When much younger, I was photographing buildings in downtown LA and was approached by a large group of young black teens; I can tell you I was extremely nervous and had it not been for me telling them, LYING, that their pictures might end up in a magazine, I am not sure how the situation might have turned out.

I might have been less lucky had I been a young black teen not from the area.
