She Wanted to Keep It 'With Dignity

Cindy McCain, the wife of the late Sen. John McCain, said President Trump was not invited to her husband’s funeral because she wanted to keep the ceremony “with dignity.”

“Even though it was a very public funeral, we are still a family,” McCain said in an interview with BBC. “It was important to me that we kept it respectful and calm and not politicize it.”

Yep, dignity and Trump are two words you will never see associated with each other.

The noteworthy theme here to me is that there are some Republicans in this nation who are going to have a clear conscience in the future. They spoke against Trump when it mattered, and they put themselves on public record opposing him.

The weird thing is that there are no Republicans like that on this forum - even though Cindy McCain demonstrates there actually are Republicans with integrity in the nation at large.
 
McCain's daughter did exactly what McCain would have wanted, and made his funeral a political circus. As much as I disliked McCain and the political circus of a funeral, my hat is off to his daughter for creating such a political circus of a funeral. What better way to honor her father, considering that it is exactly what her father would have wanted?

Nobody who mocked a war hero for getting captured and tortured should expect an invitation to that war heroes funeral. Honestly what Trump said about our veterans should be against the law, Trump should be in prison for it right now, as well as all his supporters for loving their fuhrer more than our troops.

Would you invite me to the funeral of any veterans in your family who had been captured and tortured defending our country of I mocked them for being captured? Why should anyone expect an invitation to be extended in such cases It was evil. And people who supported Trump in spite of, or more likely, because of his hatred of our troops are evil and enemies of the nation.

Nobody cares about getting an invite - the hilarious part is that McCain scripted his own funeral to dis Trump.
Think about that.
How much hate must you have that you take it to the grave with you and your last memorial on earth is dedicated to that hate?

Understandable. It would have turned from a dignified event to say farewell to an honored public servant and veteran to an All-About-Me Trumpalooza.
