A man was shot by one of his sons at a church Tuesday during an argument after the funeral for another son, who was killed last month, police said.
The man was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive, said T.J. Smith, a Baltimore Police Department spokesman.
Early investigation indicated the dispute might have been over the content of an obituary, Smith said.
Smith expressed exasperation at what he called a ridiculous crime.
"I can't even describe how unnecessary and senseless this is," he said. "This was supposed be a celebration of a life, and someone decided to use a gun to handle a dispute."
