Not asking for one just equal opportunity and protection under the law if some social worker can put up things comforting the aching souls of the lgbt kids why can't a Christian teacher do the same.

Because there's nothing in the constitution about LGBT.

LGBT is not a religion. Teachers are employees of the government. The government can not promote one religion over another. The students could have their prayer box set up in a commom area of the school monitored by a student. The teacher may counsel students privately at anytime they wish, but they can not promote the religion in their classrooms.

How about a public school district in the U.S. that must pay a Muslim teacher tens of thousands of dollars and establish a religious accommodation training program for refusing to let the instructor take three weeks off to make a pilgrimage to Mecca.
How about the Muslim Accommodations Task Force now leads efforts to bring foot baths, halal food, and Muslim prayer rooms to schools everywhere. As of the summer of 2007, MSA announced that at least nine universities had set aside prayer rooms for Muslims only. At least 17 universities had installed footbaths for their Muslim students or were in the process of doing so.
Are these things 'not specific' enough ?
There are no religious requirements in the Constitution about for running for president....

There is a difference between being gay and being a christian. And there are ways to comfort an aching soul without bringing religion into it, especially where kids are concerned.

How about Blue Laws, where privately owned businesses are not allowed to open because of religious beliefs they may or may not share?
Because it's a public school. Let the kids pray all they want, just don't organize it and don't let the teacher lead it. And, homosexuality is a genetic thing, religion isn't.

You missed the big word, there. "Accomodation". Just like Christian teachers are given time off for a multitude of religious endeavors. Would you object to a Christian teacher asking for three weeks off at Christmas? In this case the school district clearly violated the woman's rights.
The footbaths are nothing more than that and use is not restricted to any group.

As for the second part of your question, .....in this ridiculously partisan atmosphere, I think almost anyone could win the presidency.....
pinheads would vote for the most ridiculous of candidates just to spite the others side......
they've already voted in unqualified fools, comedians, radicals, known thieves and bribe takers, and drug addicts......so nothing would surprise me.
just give the standard 'blame others' speech, and support their pet issues and preach class warfare, you're in.
The comedian is one of the best Represenatives in this nation. Al Franken is the kind of legislator I wish for everyone. You may not agree with his positions, but he goes to great lengths to represent his constituents.

there was no evidence about Islamic hand signs because that wasn't what the case was about....the teacher was not reinstated as yet as far as I know...

Thats her story, not the child's and the child was injured....the charges were dismissed because there was not enough evidence to prove assault

Yes I would object to a Christian getting special treatment for 3 weeks that would disrupt classtime....if the teacher can't fulfill her duties during the school year along with

The footbaths are a special religious accomodation for a specific religion, along with the special food and special prayer rooms FOR MUSLIMS ONLY....
