Another "Bible" illiterate? What are Christians always to be kind and tolerant even in the face of ignorance?
Strange that the example Jesus Christ established does not present such tolerance when confronted with ignorance and lies. The Bible proves that Jesus was anything but tolerant when it came to exposing hypocrisy, ignorance and lies. The Bible enlightens us that God can be and often is "severe" with those who have access to the truth and fall (Romans 11:22) and He is often wrathful (Thess 1:3-10)
To some such individuals the Christ will say, ".....I never knew you, depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness (sin)." -- Matt. 7:22-23
Even Jesus became angered and called some the top Religious Folk in Biblical Israel, "....hypocrites, vipers, serpents." -- Matt. 11:21-22
Even the apostles of Jesus followed the rule of being intolerant of lies, when 2 of the apostles argued about the lie being promoted by the Jewish Christians that demanded circumcision of the flesh....Paul had to put Peter in his place (Acts 15:2, Gal. 2:5)
The disciple Stephen called some the Jews (.....sons of the devil, stiff necked and uncircumcised in the heart, full of deceit and fraud -- Acts 7:51-52, 13:10)
Jesus was very "confrontational" to anyone that He knew was being deceitful either through ignorance or with premeditation.
Why just half the story? What provoked such a conversation in the first place....in order to make any kind of righteous judgment one must know the whole truth. A half truth often is a whole lie.
