Chinese Steel Manufacturers On The Brink Of Bankruptcy

I dont see a problem....the great rebuilding of China is nearly over and we are headed into a likely global depression....it is time to take down significant steel capacity

Maybe so but they produce over a billion tonnes a year, compared to the US at over 85 million tonnes.

I don't know their production rates, but I do know what the quality of their steel is. It is junk compared to ours.

.
• Chinese steelmakers are facing mounting headwinds.

• High energy costs and falling steel prices are eroding manufacturers’ profitability.

• Many Chinese steelmakers are on the brink of bankruptcy.

Say what you want about Biden, he is weathering the current storms better than almost any other country. Can you imagine the USA having better growth than China? It has been crazy.

China was sort of hoping that we would reelect trump. They had him under their thumb. Biden is more difficult for them.

That is what people used to say about Japanese steel, and they were right... Until one day they were not right.

Pride comes before a fall, you should remember that.

Would it be correct to assume you have a degree in metallurgy to make this hypothesis on the quality of Chinese steel?

I can't recall ever machining any Japanese steel, but I did turn and shear Chinese steel, and it's junk.

It was not a "hypothesis on the quality of Chinese steel", and in fact it did not mention Chinese steel at all. I said that people used to say Japanese steel was low quality, and they were right... until one day Japanese steel was high quality.

Will Chinese steel follow the same path? I do not know.

First property and construction now the steel industry, economic chaos follows in due course.

with the death of building ghost cities they were not going to need so much steel.

we have the same problems with our housing bubble collapsing.

not sure I'd be spiking the ball too much over this, its bad for the world but it was expected.

Walt, quit being a douche!

The title of the thread is Chinese Steel Manufacturers On The Brink Of Bankruptcy

It says NOTHING about Japanese steel, NOTHING!. DUH!
