Why when India had been a growing stable ally and a counter to CHina until Trump drove INdia towards China and Russia?

And also considering India pound 4 pound was providing to the US the better top engineers and executives, who tend to stay in America and spend all their wealth more and there is no real history of those coming from India being here to learn and take (or steal) IP back to Indian companies in the same way a percent of Chinese ones have??
