China Unveils 'Marine Lizard' Amphibious Assault Drone Amid S China Sea Tensions

The stealthy vessel, named the 'Marine Lizard', has a maximum range of 1,200 km, a maximum speed of up to 50 knots, and can be controlled remotely via satellites, according to its creators.

The first production Marine Lizard amphibious assault drone boat was delivered to the military last week, the Global Times has reported, citing the vessel's developers.

Created by the Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group, a subsidiary of the China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, the 12-metre-long vessel, powered by a twin diesel hydro jet, can be used as part of a combat triad working in conjunction with aerial drones and other vessels, and can swarm enemy targets following pre-attack softening by artillery and airstrikes, an unnamed expert speaking to the Global Times said.

i dont actually get the point of the boat. Its supposed to be a drone so unmanned yet it is also amphibious assault and the whole point of that is to get your men on shore.

Innocuous , isn't it ? But the vesicles contain deadly nerve-agents and explode under pressure of foot or vehicle .
However, the Chinese have been eating this for thousands of years- it's all they had- and so have built up total immunity.
What a concept ! Only the Chinese can survive on Chinese beaches. Invasion is impossible !

Where's OUR toxic seaweed program ?

Yes, what I was thinking, but it is pretty small... The landing apparatus (treads) does not look very capable, but it is only one picture.. I would assume this would be used in the invasion of the rest of the south china sea, stealing what little is left to the countries to whom the islands, etc rightly belong..

its not the picture. its the entire concept of a drone landing craft. At most tis can smuggle supplies to people already on shore.

Yes, that is a practical application, but then there certainly is't a man power shortage in red china...... Not like they care about a few service ppl....
 
Nice place, Bill. The thing is- I don't give out personal info. here. There are craven and anonymous trolls who attack people's background, place of residence, family , even gender. Although it's pleasant to jaw with decent folk- this ain't the place.
