China - North Korea....why is this not on the news?......

I have seen nothing about this on the news.....I hear people say China needs to do something about North Korea....we should acknowledge what they did.....

A fleet of North Korean cargo ships is heading home to the port of Nampo, the majority of it fully laden, after China ordered its trading companies to return coal from the isolated country, shipping data shows.

Following repeated missile tests that drew international criticism, China banned all imports of North Korean coal on Feb. 26, cutting off the country's most important export product.

To curb coal traffic between the two countries, China's customs department issued an official order on April 7 telling trading companies to return their North Korean coal cargoes, said three trading sources with direct knowledge of the order.

“To make up for the shortfall from North Korea, China has ramped up imports from the United States in an unexpected boon for U.S. President Donald Trump, who has declared he wants to revive his country’s struggling coal sector,” Reuters reported, citing its trading analysis software Eikon.

it's in the news..the question is WWCD (what will China do)? from here? was this a 1 time sanction?

was there a deal cut at Mar a Lago for help in return for not calling China a currency manipulator?

Does any of this matter long term? How do you transition out of a closed military dictatorship?
will a coupe change anything??

That's what makes it interesting lol.

I don't see where a coup could hurt. Most of what makes NK unique is the insanity factor. With the possible exception of Iran [the mullahs are effectively insane on account of their religious convictions] all the other global nuclear players are sane enough that they can be reasoned with.

But I agree with the OP that the China/NK story is being underplayed.

And I have to wonder: did Trump know all along that he was going to do a coal transaction involving China and NK?

I think we should want China to do more... This is a start, perhaps, but slowly starving the population while dear leader suffers gout from eating & drinking way to much isn't working....

It been reported over here at least, there is also talk of China cutting off oil to NK, that would surely hurt them badly.
