China invests $11 billion in massive solar power base in the desert

The Chinese plan is to win at every new technology.....proving that the West is decrepit....is over.

So far it is working......AI is slightly still up in the air but they almost certainly will win that one.

Notice that Elon decided that he can not count on the power grid.....he needs to do whatever it takes to have his own power source.

The Chinese dont have that problem.

So? Let China have the most expensive, least reliable grid of any country on the planet. Why should we care? The EU is slowly and painfully having to admit that wind and solar are massive, costly, fails.

Luddites.
The problem with solar and wind is that it isn't consistent nor is it reliable. A "smart grid" as Germany has found out after spending over a trillion dollars on one, doesn't work. You can't shift the power quickly enough and often there's nowhere to shift it to. California is in the same predicament. Sometimes they over produce solar and wind and have to find somewhere to dump it. So, California sells the power to Nevada and Arizona at a loss--that is California pays Nevada and Arizona to take it. The result is higher costs for Californians.

Battery storage even at $175 a KWH is unaffordable in the amounts necessary to cover when wind and solar are down. They also require overbuilding capacity.

The Luddites are the Greentards demanding we go to wind and solar when nuclear and natural gas would meet rising demand and limit CO2. But both are considered evil by the radical Leftist environmentalist front meaning in states where they have sway the public gets fucked raw and hard.

China and the United States have swapped places as leaders in research, according to data from the ASPI Critical Technology Tracker. Until 2007, the US led in 60 of 64 technologies; now this list has shrunk to only seven.China now leads in 54 of 64
