"Chief Justice John Roberts is pushing back against President Donald Trump’s description of a judge who ruled against Trump’s new migrant asylum policy as an “Obama judge.”

"It’s the first time that the leader of the federal judiciary has offered even a hint of criticism of Trump, who has previously blasted federal judges who ruled against him."

"Roberts said Wednesday the U.S. doesn’t have “Obama judges or Trump judges, Bush judges or Clinton judges.” He said on the day before Thanksgiving that an “independent judiciary is something we should all be thankful for."

Now do you think that Roberts is that incredibly naive to think that Trump cares about what he says, or, that he is totally blind to even begin to believe that Trump actually views the Judiciary as a separate branch of Government?
 
giving him the benefit of the doubt, I'd say he spoke before he gave it serious thought,

That you may think it is ok, that every time an immigration case is brought to the courts for an opinion, a national impact case, the lawyers choose, out of the entire country to take it right to the same 9th district court that happens to be stacked with Judges that yes, Obama hand picked, liberal nut-bags that won't even read the merit, when these lawyers could take it to any court they wanted. maybe in fairness get another opinion from another set of judges, we ARE a democracy, or so I thought.

You are so offing stupid my dear that you dont even know that a number of openings exist on the 9th circuit and Trump has done nothing to fill them. Now whose fault is that honey suckle.
 
second thread for this but I am dissapointed in the fact that Justice Roberts does not seem to be aware that activists try and get their cases in front of friendly judges. Thats why most of the anti-trump stuff comes from the ninth.

Here is exactly what Justice Roberts implied:

“The most stunning thing about this John Roberts statement is that he gave it to the AP, not during public remarks or in a law journal or any of the myriad ways he could have softened its edges. He wanted it out there and now, through the front door,” Seitz-Wald said

As it is you have no fucking idea what is happening in the courts. Last I heard there were 7 empty seats on the 9th circuit and you dont even have a clue to that.
 
Roberts is defending an independent judiciary,and he's technically correct on that.
However to say the 9th/4th isn't a politicized Circuit /District ignores reality they always rule against Trump
and then SCOTUS overturns their over-reach, such as the "Muslim bann'

The 9th district has a number of openings which trump hasn't bothered to fill. Whose fault is that?

Obama, I'll six, but it could be seven years, was hampered by the filibuster rule, and the GOP took full advantage of it to blanketly halt many of his judiciary nominations, reason Reid went to the majority vote. It was a mistake, setting bad pecedent that gave us the likes of Brett, but explained why Obama didn't fill many of the empty positions

This tells you more about Trump. He actually believes if he puts a judge in, he owns them. They have to rule how he wants forever. He does not understand the separation of powers or the concept of an independent judiciary. Trump is such a crook at heart, that he thinks everyone is as corrupt as he is.
