As a Chicagoin, why? Chicago is a big complicated city. Obama only represented one small part of it. Like all politicians no one individual can solve ALL problems of a community, especially when one only represents one small portion. I'm almost positive if you gave the number of people for the community you live in it would only fit a part of Chicago. See Chicago is a big city with big individual areas. Not all those areas are great, most are. Those that are not are Really Fucking Bad. As a Chicagoin I love the warts & all of this city and I have no fear. There are areas you don't go to, anyone who lives here gets that. Just as anyone who lives in a big city gets that there are areas you don't go to in certain parts of the day or night. Welcome to life. If you are asking for Obama or Trump or any political leader to 'magically solve complicated issues of culture, race, economic depravity and conflict, good luck. No one has pretty much anywhere, unless.... unless there are funds for local policing & economic opportunity for those that are in this cycle of poverty & conflict. Did Obama do enough? No. He had to represent the entire demographic of Chicago & hay look at that, later, the nation. Did you or I do enough to engage these poverty loops of ghetto hate? No. He still did more than you or I. Did you & I care, nope, only to a point. Is he supposed to be somehow different than you and I on that?
Let's be real.
Do you give a shit about 'Black lives matter'? Do you give a shit what they are trying to really say? Cuz' it's not just about police brutality or racism, it's also about a whole cultural system of not giving a shit about communities consumed by poverty & hate and those that react to it punitively. In reality the one you responded to, you & I could give two shits to the wind about being involved in that low mentality because it's a sickness of feedback loop hate. For no reason that can be understood other than kill or be killed & usually by kids who have no hope of a better life & a cynicism that would cut you & I to the bone.
So Yeah I don't know if Obama or Trump can do a damn thing about it. More money for policing could. And by more money I mean cops walking the beat, getting involved in the community & helping those that want something better in an impoverished area like Garfield Park. A chance to speak & through the cops defend their neighborhood. They'd also like opportunities for work for their kids & themselves. Those TWO things would do more than anything but alas you don't give a shit, I don't give a shit, the economy & our government don't give a shit to help those in ghetto mentalities. It requires work, more work than a figurehead can do. If anything Obama after it all, represents the truth of you and I, neither of us REALLY give a shit.
So be real.
I am. I LIVE here. I see all of it all the time and I love this city.
I would love to see less people killed but I am not delusional about what i'd take. No figure head can solve it & no dumb shit on a forum making a thread for political points can solve it cuz' they could give two shits to the wind about those in areas like Garfield Park, Austin or the deep South side.
We are ALL pussies when it comes to those areas. A bunch of dumb shit keyboard warriors who have no fucking clue. Including me.
I am real. I live here.
SO fuck off with that shit. Not you so much Sailor but the mentality that REALLY has no clue.
