Chicago bar bans MAGA hats

A Chicago bar and arcade has banned “Make America Great Again” hats.

Replay Lincoln Park called on Chicagoans to “keep it classy” while implementing a new dress code Saturday.

“Replay Lincoln Park has implemented a new and strictly enforced dress code,” the bar posted on Facebook.

The post showed a photo of the hat.

The bar’s owner, Mark Kwiatkowski, told NBC 5 Chicago that he wrote the Facebook post himself.

“I was just frustrated and I just kind of wanted to make somewhat of a statement,” Kwiatkowski said. “I felt like we did have an opportunity to say something that might draw some attention to this ugliness.”

The ban came a day after White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was asked to leave a Virginia restaurant because of her work for the Trump administration.

Replay Lincoln Park mentioned the restaurant, Red Hen, in another Facebook post.

“We've been getting a lot more interactions here on Facebook since we decided to disallow MAGA hats and we're not sure how to deal with it,” the post on Monday ready. “Hey Red Hen, how are y'all handling it? (And are you interested in any cross-promotion opportunities?)”

The bar is within its rights to ban anything they want.

They really wouldn't like this, I suppose.

Yeah; AZ had some bars that put signs banning the wearing of Biker's vests, with club names on them, until large numbers started showing up together, making a big show of seeing the signs, and then loudly declaring that they would then go to a Bar that did allow their vests to be worn inside.

Big surprise how losing upwards an extra $1000.00 in one night, make people reconsider their decisions.

That and when it also included Church clubs, VFW clubs, Patriot Rider clubs, Police clubs, etc.

I suppose people with MAGA caps might make trouble in a bar. Somebody might say something, and someone else might defend them. Not what a bar needs .

Good idea.. Booze and inciting people with a reminder of Trump's lies and violent rhetoric don't go together.
