Charles Manson cult member denied parole.

Or the message is "Vote Newsome in '22".

IMO this is fucking political, not about justice. The point of prison isn't merely revenge, it's to protect the public. Executing prisoners isn't revenge, it's eliminating a clear and present danger. However, politicians loooove to play games with this point be it Willie Horton or Leslie Van Houten.

I'm not supporting forgiving mass murderers but is this revenge or justice? Is Van Houten a threat or not? If not, then why continue to pay to keep her in prison?

Maybe, I dont know much about it.

Van Houten has actually rehabilitated. we pretend that is what our system is about. She has received college degrees and done good work in prison helping other prisoners. That is over a 50 year period. She is not part of a band of murderers and not under Manson's thrall. She seems like a good choice for release. The govs keep overruling due to politics.

Did this POS get a LIFE sentence?

Yes or No

politics is what over turned her death sentence

Have you actually seen it, I suspect not? Sharon Tate was killed in real life but Tarantino chose to rewrite history.

Yeah. It's about an Actor of the 50/60s and the world of Hollywood at the time. It captured the era, the landscape, the mood of the time. It was a nostalgic 'ride' through SoCal. Tarantino and his re-write of history was probably his and Hollywood's retro-view of what he/they wished would have happened. I loved at the end where 'Rick Dalton' made the cigarette commercial, very convincing, then when the camera stopped filming he threw the cigarette down and knocked over the cut-out Poster of himself in disgust. hahaha ... so many Actors made commercials for so much shit back then. The Slogan was "It's not selling out, ... it's cashing in".

If it was just a story why did Tarantino use real footage of Sharon Tate?

Is that the part where 'Sharon Tate' goes to a Movie to see herself on screen? Probably a devise to show how these 'Movie Stars' are as parochial as the rest of us.
Harrison Ford was a Carpenter making $400 a week. He was a little unsure whether he wanted to quit his Job over a role in this Star Wars thing. A Space Western?

I read a story by a writer in the 1960s who went to a party where Manson and his people showed up. Manson was passing around drink and drug concoctions and had his girls schmoozing and cajoling people to hear the spiel Charlie had put together. He said it took a lot of effort to resist coming along with him to the farm. A lot of serious concentration was needed. Charlie did not have just street waifs. Many of his girls were from privileged or middle-class backgrounds and they were educated.

Newsom has survived a couple of recall attempts and is up for reelection this year. I expect he's standing on a 72 year old woman's body to bolster his "tough on crime" stance. Sad.
This woman participating in stabbing two people to death, and then smearing their blood on the walls. She may get out of jail when she brings the LaBianca’s back to life in my opinion.

Why not just kill her or allow her access to a pair of panty hose or a man's tie?

I don't know if Manson would have made a suggestion like that. But you can judge her for some reason. The fact is paroled murderers have the lowest recidivism rate. Less than 3 percent are returned for felonies. Parole is not perfect, but what would it be like if none was ever paroled. https://www.prisonlegalnews.org/news/2011/jul/15/paroled-killers-rarely-re-offend/
You can be certain that female murderers paroled are near zero recidivism or felonies.

All I've posted is, mainly, that Newsome reversing the parole is about politics, not justice. Secondly that I trust the parole board's judgement on Van Houten's parole.

All she would probably do is spend the rest of her life in her room, probably life a fantasy life online like TOP, TDAK, volsrock or the Gimp. She's 72 and has no money.
