Exactly. The other thing that doesn't make sense is the GJ only indicting him on "disorderly conduct," when (at least according to our armchair hood-wearing prosecutors here) it could have been so much more. Disorderly conduct is what you get when you're at a family picnic in the park and say something rude to the park cop. It's not what you get if you conspired to pay ppl to stage a fake attack, filed false police reports, etc.

This is actually the best possible outcome, and the state attorneys office really fucked the left on this. I never cared if Smollett got nailed for all of those charges, and assumed it was somewhat of a revenge for him embarrassing the left and fake news media.
As it stands, take all of the political fallout for the left that already existed. Fake news, hate crime hoaxes being exposed, monolithic political reactions, and failed attempt to smear the right politically. Now, add in some celebrity two-tiered system of justice, because that always pisses lots of people off. The fact that officials in America's most corrupt city are pissed-off over the corruption of other entities pretty much says it all.

3rd comes trial [to find guilt or innocence].
If there is no indictment ---there can not be an exoneration.
Yet, I think Smollet was indicted ---and through collusion--- he was exonerated.
For that, Smollet made payments to certain parties.
