Challenge for our leftie friends

the difference is that the republicans arguing that knew it was bullshit. it was politics and about exerting power.

liberals ACTUALLY BELIEVE it though. they ACTUALLY believe in "fairness" when it comes to this process. LOL.

No republicans said Obama had to nominate a conservative. Well no prominent republican. Thingy is lying.

When I hit reply, I can see that there's an img in what you posted, but for whatever reason it's not showing up for me. Possibly the system I'm on is blocking it. What's it a picture of?

When did we still a seat and pack the courts with ideological judges that are hugely and historically unpopular?

1) the judicial branch isn't a popularity contest
2) liberals at this time and juncture would have opposed anyone. That's why "xx" was on all their pre-printed forms. liberal chucklefuck proles don't know shit about the judiciary or what makes a relevant and competent judge.

Orangetweet believes in fairness? :lolup::rofl2:

Republicans believe in fairness?:rofl2: Tell us about the Garland hearings.

Oops.

With Kagan and Sotomayor, the stakes were relatively low. Kagan was arguably more conservative than the justice she was replacing, which was the best realistic hope for the conservatives, so why would they get upset? Sotomayor was probably more liberal than Souter, but not hugely so. On the most controversial issues, like abortion, they were expected to vote the same way. He'd long been a member of the four-judge minority on most split decisions, so having her replace him mostly just preserved that status quo. By comparison, Kavanaugh is a hard-right judge being offered to replace a center-right judge who provided the swing vote on a number of critical issues, like abortion. When it goes through, it will profoundly alter the balance of the court and result in a long-standing precedents being overturned. Understandably, for people who don't want to see the court turn a drastic rightward turn, this is a big deal. If nothing else, it's widely expected to end Roe v. Wade, leading to a future when women who choose to end unwanted pregnancies are treated like criminals. The stakes are higher for this appointment than for any going back decades.
Any examples of similar behavior during those proceedings?

Yeah, I'm sure you're in the know.

Then why withhold them or dump 42,000 of them at the last second?

read what ted cruz had to say. the documents were when he was staff secretary under the bush admin, he didn't even write them, he just passed them back and forth between the state department etc and the whitehouse.

Oops.

advice and consent of the senate implies there needs to be consent. the senate did not consent. sorry bitch, no garland for you.

I'd support efforts to lower the cost of adoption. In fact, if you want to reduce abortions without using criminal law to frighten women into carrying pregnancies to term against their will, one way to do so is to make adoption a more attractive option, so that more women choose it voluntarily as a way to deal with unwanted pregnancies. Similarly, we could work on mandating that employers provide plenty of paid maternity leave, and that everyone has access to free, high-quality prenatal and obstetric care. If there are women getting abortions due to the financial burdens inherent in a pregnancy, or the difficulties associated with adoption, there are things liberals and conservatives could cooperate on to address that.

Those being hauled out are almost all women who know that Kavanaugh is lying to get approved. Once he gets on, abortion rights will be gone. The ACA will be gutted. The rights of workers will be creamed. He will back Trump's stonewalling. The Roberts court is the most pro corporate of all time and he will make it worse.

Those people are paid astro-turf.

Yeah and when you pack the court with a bunch of ignorant neanderthals who know nothing about the law and just enforce their ideology, expect a counterpacking. The constitution exists, I'm sorry. We will ensure our rights are enforced. You will never have the freedomless dictatorship of your dreams.

Good answer and I agree.

I'm all about dredging up Bush the Dumber since he was the one all you Conservative racists supported prior to Palin and Trump. Let's take a long look back at Kavanaugh's time in the Bush the Dumber White House. All of it; Iraq, torture, Enron, gay marriage, US attorney firings, etc. Let's bring it all back into the conversation.

Wrong; you're all about being an utter and complete moron. :rofl2:
