CDC now advises people to treat COVID same as the flu and other respiratory illnesses

When the poutrage from the Covidiots began early on, Mr. Owl sent me an article about the 1918 influenza epidemic. There were equally stupid morons back then too, crying about having to isolate and to wear masks. That one killed an estimated 50 million ppl worldwide. No vaccines, either.

A lot of lessons were learned from the 1918 pandemic yet the MAGAt mob refused to learn from them. They truly are poorly educated and/or insane.

Example #1:
fixed that for ya.

Straightforward garden variety pneumonia's don't infect millions causing hospitals to run out of ventilators and a million deaths over the course of 2 years and then practically dissappear.

Pneumonia is not a garden or garden variety. Pneumonia is treatable without ventilators IF you catch it early and treat it aggressively. Pneumonia is not a virus.

Trump's MAGAt anti-vaxxers and "masks don't work" mob will be remembered in our history as the base cause of tens of thousands of needless deaths.

The good news is that most of those who died were idiot MAGAts. The bad news is that those who died left grieving family members behind.

MAGA isn't a person, Sock. Covid does not kill. You are hallucinating. Paradox M. Paradox V.
Chanting your religion is pointless, Sock.

MAGAts believe they have a right to spread disease.

Yes, but that would also encourage the lazy ones to malinger. It's a tough problem. Maybe temp checks at the front door?

MAGA isn't a person, Sock. There is no right to spread disease. Airborne viruses spread themselves. It's literally up to the way the wind blows, as it were.
Not all diseases cause a fever, Sock.

A case of Covid no longer means isolating for five days, according to the latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released Friday. It’s the latest sign of the virus’s normalization four years after it upended our lives.

You should now follow the same precautions with Covid as you take with the flu, according to new guidelines from the CDC. That means staying home until you’ve gone a day with no fever and improving symptoms. Take other precautions for the next five days, including wearing a mask and limiting close contact with others.

Those are the same steps the CDC recommends for other respiratory viruses.

“Covid-19 is still an important public health threat, but it is not the emergency that it once was,” said Dr. Brendan Jackson, who leads the respiratory virus response for the CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Disease, on Friday.
“And its health impacts increasingly resemble those of other [respiratory viral] illnesses, including influenza and RSV.”

Plenty of Americans dropped Covid testing and isolation periods long ago as the virus became more routine. Many schools and workplaces hadn’t been enforcing the stricter CDC guidance, and some states have already relaxed their Covid guidance.

Many doctors say that at this point, common sense should guide you. If you feel sick, stay home. When you’re feeling well enough to go out but still have some symptoms, it’s a good idea to wear a mask indoors to protect others. Be more cautious if you’re going to be around more vulnerable people, such as those who are immunocompromised or elderly.

So in other words it should have always been treated like the flu and people never needed isolate and social distance and that we were victimized by leftist assholes?

The Covid Panic was in 2019-2021, Sock, not 1918. Some people are still paranoid about it (including you, it seems).

MAGA isn't a person or a mob, Sock.
The one that is poorly educated is yourself. You can't blame YOUR problems on anybody else, Sock.
Arguing Paradox V and Paradox M is not 'education'. It's irrational.

Precisely.

An airborne virus easily travels six feet.
It travels into every business and every home and is on every surface.
Every HVAC system blows such a virus throughout the building.
No mask will stop it.
No treatment will stop it (there is no vaccine in the US).
No vaccine will stop it (even if there was one).

UV light will destroy a virus, which is why infections tend to be more prevalent in indoor conditions during the winter.
You can also destroy a virus chemically, by using bleach, for example. Clean surfaces using a simple weak bleach solution (for those surfaces that can tolerate it). Clean up filth and don't let it accumulate.
If one is sick they should stay home. That's pretty simple. If the virus induces pneumonia, they should get it treated at the hospital as soon as they can. Pneumonia is no joke.

Simple sanitation measures are really all that's needed.

It's why Bubonic plague (which killed half the population of Europe!) is no longer a significant issue (except among the homeless).
It's why cholera is no longer a significant issue (except among the homeless).

The immune system is really an amazing system in the body. It is capable of handling a wide variety of pathogens including viruses that have never even yet been discovered! If a viral infection occurs, and the immune system learns how to fight it off, you are naturally inoculated. It's even better than getting a vaccine. Any further infection is easily handled by the body from that point on. You are 'vaccinated' for the rest of your life.

Hospitals can assist, but they depend on the immune system as much as you do. THAT system is the true cure.

Covid19 is part of the Covid/SARS series of viruses. It is the mildest variant of that series so far discovered. NONE of the Covid/SARS series of viruses kill.
There ARE, however, some variants of the influenza series of viruses that can kill (usually by inducing a fever too high for the body to withstand). Fortunately, these are pretty rare.

AIDS, which is not an airborne virus, is particularly nasty because it attacks the immune system itself. A severely compromised immune system opens you up to any opportunistic pathogen that comes along. AIDS itself doesn't kill, but many of these opportunistic infections can, since there is little to stop them. Fortunately, it is spread only through blood and saliva contact. Basic sanitation measures can avoid infection. This virus cannot last long outside the body. Drying out destroys this virus.

Really it comes down to the same old thing: Don't Panic.

How sweet, Sybil, but I'm straight. Ask your mom.

It also explains your lack of knowledge, perspective and, of course, history.

Good news, and pretty much what epidemiologists predicted would happen, long ago.

Too bad a lot of ppl with influenza don't stay home when they should. Maybe we should be encouraging employers to be more generous with sick leave?

Could Ziggy be sista stench?
