IMO, Trump simply capitalized an increasing number of Americans consumed by greed and selfish-desire.

The demographics indicate the problem, but I've seen no effective solutions offered. Only those advocating more force against the opposition.

I'd say a rough starting point in the divide shown is the religious versus the greedy. Let me expand on that second group just a bit. When I say greedy, I mean it in the Socialist sense of the word. That is, those that want the government to hand them a pile of money each month because they don't make enough otherwise.

Both are greedy, but there is a significant difference:

A capitalist becomes wealthy by innovation, hard work, and careful management of his money and resources. The capitalist doesn't particularly care if others succeed or fail and expects nothing in terms of taking wealth from them. A socialist becomes wealthy at the end of a gun barrel taking other's wealth for himself. The socialist doesn't care if others succeed or fail so long as they give him the lion's share of what they produce.
