Capitol Police Chief Called Jan 6 Events ‘A Cover Up’ in Tucker Carlson Interview

There are recordings of trump realizing he'd "lost to the other guy". He accused Pence of "being too honest" for upholding The Constitution.

These are facts. But - go ahead and continue with the spewage of your wing nut talking points - it's what you do :(

American Trumpers are either too deluded or too stupid to understand that point. Anti-American foreign agents will lie about it.

Former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund told then-Fox News host Tucker Carlson that events surrounding the January 6th riots at the U.S. Capitol appear to have been a “cover up,” in never-seen-before footage published exclusively by The National Pulse.

In the hour-long interview, Sund laments the behaviors of then House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as well as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley, who he says had intelligence to suggest problems on Capitol Hill, which they failed to communicate with Sund and his cops on the ground.

“If I was allowed to do my job as the chief we wouldn’t be here, this didn’t have to happen,” Sund begins, around 19 minutes into the conversation, during which he describes himself as “pissed off” about being “lambasted in public” over the events. Sund has written a book, Courage Under Fire, about his experiences.

Having served as a police officer for over 30 years, including taking over as Chief of the United States Capitol Police in 2019, Sund explains the events leading up to January 6th, including prior to the incident at the Capitol itself, and the aftermath, appeared to be a “cover up.”

“Everything appears to be a cover up,” says the decorated police chief, explaining that most things to do with his department were political, specifically because he reported to politicians including then Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

“Like I said, I’m not a conspiracy theorist,” Sund explains, “…but when you look at the information and intelligence they had, the military had, it’s all watered down. I’m not getting intelligence, I’m denied any support from National Guard in advance. I’m denied National Guard while we’re under attack, for 71 minutes…”

The full interview has thus far been hidden from the public at the behest of Rupert Murdoch’s increasingly left-wing Fox News channel, which unceremoniously fired its prime time host Tucker Carlson allegedly as part of a private settlement with Dominion Voting Systems.

“It sounds like they were hiding the intelligence,” Carlson quizzed, to which Sund stunningly responds: “Could there possibly be actually… they kind of wanted something to happen? It’s not a far stretch to begin to think that. It’s sad when you start putting everything together and thinking about the way this played out… what was their end goal?”

The next portion of the interview, featuring a stunning conversation about Capitol riot “orchestrator” Ray Epps, will be released on TheNationalPulse.com on Thursday morning.

No wonder he was forced to resign

He’s looking to blame someone else

He was tasked with protecting people like Nancy Pelosi

NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND

Trump didn't think he had lost

How did Trump pressure anyone?

If Trump was sitting in his dining room how could he have whipped up a crowd, they wouldn't have heard him.

They went home because the police overpowered them. The crowd did not listen to Trump, he told them to protest peacefully before they left and they didn't listen to him so why would they listen to him when he told them to go home?

Oh, stop it already. :palm:

I'm not so sure. Yes, he's pissed and is probably trying to sell his book, but a lot of what he is saying appears to be true and backed up by others....not that Tucker isn't a major putz who wants to spin this into a conspiracy theory.

On February 1, 2021, Sund sent a letter to Speaker Pelosi detailing the events leading up to and including January 6.[13] Sund provided a timeline for the aid he sought from local law enforcement agencies and National Guard units, and an accounting of the meetings he had after the perimeter had been breached while he sought assistance.[13] Toward the end of the letter, Sund acknowledged a breakdown in some systems, which he argued could nonetheless be rectified through provision of resources, training, updates to policy, and accountability. He did not specify which systems failed but pointed to the lack of intelligence, noting officials did not predict an armed assault on the Capitol.[13]

On February 23, Sund testified before Senate committees about the storming.[22][23] Sund later stated he regretted his resignation.[24]

On March 3, 2021, Major General William J. Walker, the commanding officer of the District of Columbia National Guard testified in a U.S. Senate hearing. His testimony supported Sund's account of events.[25] Walker testified that he spoke with Sund at 1:49 p.m. Walker said, "It was an urgent plea" from Sund, "and his voice was cracking, and he was serious, he needed help right then and there, every available Guardsman."[26] Within minutes of the call, the Capitol was breached.

Sund maintained that the U.S. Capitol Police "did not fail". He said Capitol Police officers had acted bravely and that, "outnumbered and against tremendous odds", they had maintained the safety of members of Congress.[19]

Sund has written a book, Courage Under Fire: Under Siege and Outnumbered 58 to 1 on January 6 (ISBN 9798200983520), published in January 2023 by Blackstone Publishing. It became an “Amazon triple bestseller” in the first week of publication.[27][28][29] In the book, Sund highlights failures by several intelligence agencies to heed various warnings of the Jan. 6 attack.

Sund said in February 2021 that on January 3, he contacted House Sergeant-at-Arms Paul D. Irving and Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Michael C. Stenger to request support from the U.S. National Guard in advance of the January 6 joint-session of Congress. According to Sund, his request was denied by Irving who stated concerns about "optics"

He was supposed to protect Pelosi

Why the fuck is he blaming Nancy for what those assholes did?

On January 4, Capitol Police chief Steven Sund requested additional National Guard support from Irving and Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Michael C. Stenger.[10][11] That request was denied. Sund claims Irving's refusal cited concerns about "optics", though Irving disputes this claim.[12][13]

Same link proving Irving is a liar: "At 1:09, Sund called Irving and Stenger and asked them for an emergency declaration required to call in the National Guard; they both told Sund they would "run it up the chain". Irving called back with formal approval an hour later.[19] Irving would later deny the 1:09 p.m. conversation took place, though the call was substantiated by phone records."

On January 6, 2021, for more than an hour during the violent storming of the Capitol that resulted in physical and symbolic harm to the Congress, the Capitol, and the process of accepting and counting the votes of the Electoral College, Stenger and House Sergeant-at-arms Paul Irving (members of the Capitol Review Board) repeatedly refused to request the assistance of the U.S. National Guard.[7] The following day, he resigned as the Senate sergeant-at-arms,[8][9][10] with his deputy Jennifer Hemingway taking over on an interim basis.[11][12] The two other top Capitol security officials—House sergeant-at-arms Paul D. Irving and United States Capitol Police chief Steven Sund—also resigned on the same day,

Again, cite the laws those things violate.

That is what you need to prove in court.

This Sund guy is alive

One guy died already

The other guy says it had nothing to do with optics

One is licking Tucker Carlson ass

Stenger is dead. He was 71. Sund seems to be telling the truth even though there seems to be a lot of blame and complacency to pass around among security and the leadership.

Why side with him

He resigned just as quick as the others

Yet you believe him over them

Ready to let him smear a dead man so Tucker and him can make money

Sund’s tumultuous tenure as the leader of the Capitol Police began in May 2019, when he was appointed to replace Matthew R. Verderosa. It has been plagued with communications failures, claims of gender discrimination and a robust pattern of misconduct met with light punishment.

The Capitol Police union issued a statement Thursday calling for Sund’s resignation and for the resignations of Assistant Chief Chad Thomas and Assistant Chief Yogananda Pittman.
