They pay whomever owns the property to drill, they get the cash and pay for the rights to the minerals, oil, etc. However, reality invades. They get the money because they "do"... Where is the "theft"?

How is it theft? We(the people) pay people to extract it, and then we(the people)sell the resources and the profit goes into the bank account of we the people to be used for we the people.

The only way it would be theft is if you mine the resources and sell it and keep the profit to your self(Sort of like tax evasion).

Land ownership is not new. Though ownership of what's under the land? That is something very new. Even up till recently in many countries? You can buy the land though what is under the land is owned by the monarch or government.

Heck land was only leased to the people by monarchs(through taxation) in the old days and they could throw you off the land whenever they wanted. You certainly didn't have any rights to anything under the ground.

Therefore the idea cannot be that "idiotic".

seriously ditzie? Google it... it is not hard... anyone who has studied WWII AT ALL can tell you the deaths were far higher in Russia and China than in the the entirety of Europe. The civilian deaths are easy to show WHERE they occurred. It should also give you a good idea of the destruction that took place in those countries to inflict such high civilian deaths. The fact that you think I was simply guesstimating shows you have no fucking idea what actually happened in WWII on the Eastern Front. Look up the battle of Stalingrad moron. There alone Germany and the axis forces lost about 800k troops. (Stalingrad is in Russia moron)

Then look to the battle of Kursk that happened afterwards as the German forces were once again beaten back. The Russian forces then proceeded to escort the Germans out of Russia and pounded them back into Germany.

Do they also tell you that much of the information regarding Russian and Chinese casualties is from the governments, which are Communists? I've studied WWII.... I'm not some kind of Jeopardy-qualified know it all on the subject, like you or Damo... but I am familiar with the supposed deaths in Russia and China, and I admitted that I misspoke earlier about the war being fought in Russia and China. I'm not running for president, so the fact that I misspoke on a piss-ant message board in cyberspace, is not a big deal to me. I disagree with this premise and logic, on several levels and for numerous reasons. First and foremost, the fact that ALL nations are involved in WORLD wars, hence the fucking name! Regardless of how many people the Russians and Chinese claim to have lost, it does more to damage Communism than to help it, in my opinion. I mean... the argument FOR Communism is, we'd be awesome, if we could just not be so pathetic as to get millions of our own people slaughtered in wars... other than that, Communism is perfect! LOL

And you provided links, three of them to be exact. They all have approximately the same data that all history books reference, which is data submitted by the respective governments. We have no way of knowing for certain if the totals from China and Russia are accurate, we have no way of knowing exactly how many Chinese and Russians may have been executed by their own people during this time. But in your simple-minded view, we should all just accept the numbers as valid because that is what is recorded. If the Commies claim millions and millions died, who are we to say they aren't being honest, right?
