OK. From what I hear? China is investing in Canadian oil. Why isn't America investing? Would that be a great place to put some "stimulus money"? It would increase oil production and thus reduce the cost of oil/gasoline greatly. Thus reducing the cost of everything(via reducing transportation costs). Put more money in the pockets of North Americans. Though from what I hear? The Oil is being produced for off shore markets(China). Apparently the Keystone pipeline will pump oil to Texas to be refined for Asian markets. Therefore it will not help bring relief to the pumps. It should increase our GDP and thus currency strength on paper(though it never seems to work out that way). How about Canada investing in it's OWN oil? I guess our GDP isn't high enough? Yet we always seem to find money for wars..........

Here are some key notes. We need some fact checks here!
WS Why not nationalize all natural resources including oil and gas and put all Canadian pension funds to work for all Canadians? Please remember the entity that wants to acquire Nexen - it's a SOE or Crown Corporation equivalent.

a study done for TransCanada, the builder of Keystone XL, which predicts the pipeline would enable Canadian producers to boost the price of their crude. The oil would bypass refineries in the Midwest that are now getting their oil at a discount because of new sources in Canada and elsewhere. Shipping the oil sands crude to the Gulf Coast would reduce the oversupply in the Midwest and boost Canadian income by as much as $4 billion, TransCanada told Canadian regulators.

In 2005, former President George W. Bush and the Republican controlled congress were pushing for oil drilling in Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR), the Democrats back then offered Bush and the Republicans no opposition to drilling if they would guarantee that the oil drilled in Alaska would stay in the United States for US consumers. And of course the Republicans said no. No to US consumers, and yes to foreign consumers

So basically China would have owned the Keystone Pipeline that Republicans wanted running through the United States, down to the Gulf, with the oil loaded onto tankers and shipped over to China.
Nice, huh?...
