Can someone explain the Bud Light boycott to me?

Seems like they are going out of their way to aim advertising at a different group than one represented by Kid Rock and, for some reason that I can't fathom, Kid Rock seems to care a bunch about that. Basically this seems most like an anti-"cancel" event, where instead of cancel culture cancelling for no woke, it is now anti-cancel culture cancelling for "too much" woke....

Personally I wouldn't buy Bud Light or Bud if it had great ads, but then I like good beer. If I did buy it and was somehow insulted by advertising to some other group I'd just not buy it, but I don't and no kind of advertising will convince me that barely yellow colored barley pop has flavor.

I like to think advertising has no affect on me, I try not to allow it to affect me, but I’m sure it does.

Oh, I am certain it has an effect. Sometimes I research and buy a product because I saw an advertisement. Other times I ignore the advertisement, it doesn't "hit"... probably because they are aiming at someone other than me. I don't care if they have an image of whoever that is on the can (I am not up on who's who of today's trans culture elite), that will not effect my purchases one way or another. I know that Bud Light tastes like barely flavored bubbly water and avoid it because of that flavor inadequacy regardless of how many huge and small horses they might have running with dogs in ads, or frogs speaking slow English, or "Bud Light Salutes" ads (those were sometimes awesome) they might show it will not change the flavor of this nasty swill.

I guess there is a way I can agree to be okay to be affected by advertising, that is if it suggests something I did not know I wanted/needed I think it served me well. I also feel that way about when google or whoever collects data on me, maybe they know me better than I know myself and so might help me find products that will improve my life.

Beer is for little kids and old maids. :) Glass...ice.....Beefeater..... tonic......lime twist. The end.

I've largely moved on from beer. But it's still a solid choice in the following scenarios:

1) When you're in a baseball stadium, and especially when you have a hot dog there
2) Sunday afternoons during football season
3) Mexican or Thai food - kind of a must w/ either
4) School reunions, for old time's sake
