Can Heterosexuality be Reversed?

"... condones beating slaves...."

Anyone who beats their male or female slave with a rod must be punished if the slave dies as a direct result, 21 but they are not to be punished if the slave recovers after a day or two, since the slave is their property. Exodus 21:20-21

Exodus is the story of the Jews escaping Egypt. What does that have to do with Christianity?

Just wondering...
Is there a Mrs. God for us to take as an example? Maybe just a lot of playing with the Angles? Or does God just visit a few Marys now and again when he gets horny? Inquiring minds and all that.

For you Christian Bible thumpers out there that want to use YOUR religious interpretations to condemn others...

HOW are YOU doing meeting the standards you believe in? There's a bunch of them in the bible, even if you toss out the old testament as no longer counting.

It is very much a part of Catholism, he is hilarious.

The funny part is that even IF the OT has no bearing on Christianity whatsoever, it is still the same god. So either way you look at it, their god thinks it is OK to beat your slave (so long as you don't kill them...how moral).

It gives a historical perspective for a deeper understanding. Again, what does the story of the Jews escaping Egypt have to do with God sanctioning Christians to beat slaves?

I didn't say that your god condones christians beating slaves. But the same god DID condone the Jews beating their slaves. Same god, same book. You don't have a problem with that?

We've already established that you don't believe in God, so your opinion on related matters is irrelevant.

Next time, perhaps you might phrase your question a bit more specifically if you don't want me to answer.

Even if we accept that your god exists; if this god hated gays/lesbians - then why do they exist? why do they prosper? why do they go to church without getting hit by lightening bolts?

you may not accept this, but your bible was written by people. People who put their own interpretations of what they thought your god wanted in it. It is not a direct lecture by your god. And with translations and the passage of time- who knows what your god really likes or dislikes?

The New Testament authors use the Old Testament to validate Jesus as the messiah and you are correct, it is the same G-d.

I can't change history, so no, I don't have a problem with that. Is that why you reject God?

So it was OK for the Jews to beat their slaves?

Is that why you reject God?

My primary reason for rejecting the very concept of god is that there is no evidence for its existence. On the contrary, everything that we know about the universe indicates that everything (including life itself) is the product of unguided natural processes. There are too many examples of poor design in nature for there to be a designer.

But yes, that is part of the reason. Why should I follow a god that is LESS moral than I am?

It's a common thing for anti-gay people to say they only really follow the new testament. And when you point out the bible was revised before, they say it can never be revised again. Watching the video of Dan Savage debating Brian Brown, you see those kinds of arguments to slip around the fact that they use the bible when it's convenient, and when they don't like what the bible says they come up with some way it doesn't apply.

Basically their argument really is "eewwww I don't like gays"

I don't care if you answer; I'm just stating the obvious, that your opinion is irrelevant. Especially since you're conveying such ignorance of both the Jewish and Christian religions.

The Talmud was compiled by people, but handed down word-for-word from Moses, who received it first-hand from God at Mt. Sinai. The Gospels of the New Testament convey the words of Christ, as remembered by His Apostles and complied by their students.

God doesn't hate homosexuals; He hates their behavior.

"Everything that we know"? For the sake of argument, let's assume for a moment that we know everything about how the universe was created. I know everything about how a building is built, and no building is perfect, so does that mean that it doesn't have a designer? Obviously not, so your logic fails.

In order for you to conclude that you are more moral than God, you must assume that God is not the source of morality. Again, your logic fails.
