I knew a guy who married a 45yo Filipina when he was 65 and then they adopted a bunch of her orphan relatives from PI. He got 50% of his SS additional each month for each child while his lovely bride raised them. Then when they turned 18 and the checks stopped coming he died.

My father thought Filipinos should be considered Americans and be able to go back and forth at will; he served over there in WW II and liked them.
He probably wouldn't want that these days, though, given how much they've changed. He died before all the anti-American sniveling started over there. This is actually a sensible argument. The only condition I would add is only children born to foreign nationals that entered the country legally should be granted citizenship status. It might encourage legal immigration and people would be entering the country legitimately which very few people are opposed to. What would you say to that?

By definition SS is a ponzI scheme but it's not going anywhere.so there's no use discussing. I wish there had been an opt out. I'd have retired a long time ago.
It's hard to encourage legal immigration when the Trump administration is working to shut down most legal immigration.
It has financial issues but it isn't a Ponzi scheme. I guess we could make it viable by simply not allowing anyone that calls it a Ponzi scheme to take any money out since taking money out of Ponzi scheme and knowing it is one is illegal.
