The unemployment rate in CA has fallen faster than it did for the rest of the country. It's not lagging anything. CA has created more jobs than any state since 2012.

No it isn't because it establishes context.

CA's unemployment peaked at 12.2% in 2010. It's down to 4.3% now. The rate declined by 65%.
The US' unemployment peaked at 10.0% in 2009. It's down to 3.8% now. The rate declined by 62%.

So in your world, is a reduction of 65% less than a reduction of 62%?

You said CA was lagging and you based that on a one-time snapshot of the current unemployment rate. You were trying to indict CA's Democrats as somehow bad for the economy, yet Texas had an unemployment rate above the national average too, yet you're not indicting Republicans for that.
