Twitter is twitter but Meta just announced massive layoffs as well. Theres a ton of smaller tech companies too and they have uniformly cut about 10-30% of thier staff. Compounding the issue is that these are good paying jobs that create other jobs. The restaurants cant very well exist if all their customers have no money as one example.
Normally these people would be snapped up by other tech companies but most of them have announced freeze hiring.
Tech companies also rely a lot on ad revenue and if we do enter recession then ads are the first thing other companies will cut. Not to mention most of the bottom tier tech companies rely on valuation to stay afloat and the stock market has made it clear they are now looking for revenue and profit not nebulous concepts such as "growth"
