California Eliminating Bail for Non Violent Offenders

This is pretty big legislation. There had been rare bi-partisan agreement in the state that we need prison reform. I'm not sure what happens now if someone doesn't show up. A warrant can be issued but then what?

What was interesting is part of the legislation allows judges more leeway as to who should be released. So some previous supporters of the bill are now against because they think judges will discriminate against P.O.C.

Legislation goes into effect next year.

Nothing about the legal system should be for profit.

Once you have for profit companies...you have to guarantee that they have "subjects". And when they are making bank...they will spend some of that lobbying for policies and legislation that will PROVIDE "subjects".
